Paramount+ has officially confirmed the streaming launch of EPiC: Elvis Presley In Concert, the latest cinematic venture from visionary director Baz Luhrmann. This groundbreaking documentary special will premiere exclusively on Paramount+ in the United States on June 3, with Canadian audiences gaining access on July 24.
The acclaimed filmmaker behind masterpieces such as Elvis, The Great Gatsby, and Moulin Rouge! returns to explore the legendary career of Elvis Presley through previously unreleased archival material.
Unearthed Footage Redefines Concert Dokumentaries
EPiC: Elvis Presley In Concert offers viewers an extraordinary opportunity to witness Elvis at his absolute peak during his iconic Las Vegas residencies throughout the 1970s. The production team uncovered remarkable lost footage, including rare 16mm film from the historic Elvis on Tour documentation and cherished 8mm home movies preserved within the Graceland archives.
Additionally, never-before-heard audio recordings provide intimate insights into the King of Rock and Roll’s stage presence and performance brilliance.
“We discovered an incredible collection of materials and collaborated with Peter Jackson and the brilliant team at Park Road Post Production to enhance everything to unprecedented quality,” explained Baz Luhrmann. “Our goal was to present Elvis during his prime years as though viewers were physically present in the audience.”
Jonathan Redmond, who co-produced the project, added: “Our mission transcended traditional documentary boundaries—this represents something far beyond conventional concert films.”

The feature has achieved remarkable recognition, currently holding an impressive 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes—making it Luhrmann’s most critically praised work to date. The world premiere took place at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival, where attendees responded with enthusiastic reactions and spontaneous celebrations throughout screenings.
The documentary subsequently dominated global box office performance, setting a new benchmark for the highest-grossing opening weekend ever recorded for a documentary presentation in IMAX theaters.
This production marks Luhrmann’s second major Elvis-related undertaking following the biographical drama Elvis, which received eight Academy Award nominations and secured multiple BAFTA and Golden Globe accolades.
