The wait is almost over for fans eagerly anticipating the next chapter of Holly Jackson’s beloved mystery series. A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Season 2 is set to premiere on May 27, 2026, bringing back the adorable characters while introducing fresh faces to the enigmatic town of Little Kilton. This six-episode season promises to deliver the same gripping storytelling that made the first installment a global sensation, with producers promising a darker, more emotionally charged narrative that will push protagonist Pip Fitz-Amobi to her absolute limits.

Returning Stars and Fresh Faces Define Season 2’s Dynamic Cast

The core duo that audiences fell in love with in Season 1 is back in full force for this highly anticipated continuation. Emma Myers returns to portray the brilliant and determined Pippa “Pip” Fitz-Amobi, the teenage detective whose first investigation forever altered the landscape of her small English hometown. Alongside her, Zain Iqbal reprises his role as Ravi Singh, Sal Singh’s brother and Pip’s loyal investigative partner who continues to serve as both emotional anchor and co-sleuth throughout the unfolding mystery.

Several familiar faces from the first season will also grace screens once again, though their circumstances have evolved significantly following the devastating revelations that shook Little Kilton. Henry Ashton returns as Max Hastings, the disgraced suspect whose impending trial becomes a central focus of the new narrative. Asha Banks comes back as Cara Ward, Pip’s steadfast best friend who remains a pillar of support within their close-knit circle. Yali Topol Margalith portrays Lauren Gibson, another valued member of the friend group navigating the town post-revelations, while Jude Morgan-Collie returns as Connor Reynolds, Jamie’s brother who serves as yet another crucial connection within this tightly woven social fabric.

The sophomore season introduces several talented performers to the mix, each bringing their unique energy to Little Kilton’s evolving drama. Eden H. Davies joins the cast as Jamie Reynolds, Connor’s brother whose sudden disappearance serves as the catalyst for the entire narrative, sending shockwaves through the community and pulling Pip back into investigative mode against her better judgment. Misia Butler appears as Stanley Forbes, a peripheral figure whose involvement in the case proves to be far more significant than initial impressions suggest, drawing particular praise from creator Holly Jackson for what she described as a genuinely heart-wrenching performance. Jack Rowan portrays Charlie Green, Pip’s new neighbor who becomes inexorably drawn into the mystery’s unfolding danger, while Freddie England enters the picture as Robin, a polarizing addition to the friend group who begins dating Lauren and complicates existing dynamics.

Supporting performances come courtesy of Anna Brindle, Peter Sullivan, Freddie Thorp, Lu Corfield, and Stephanie Street, each adding depth to the atmospheric world that has captivated audiences worldwide since the series debuted.

Creative Team and Production Insights

Moonage Pictures maintains production duties for this continuation, collaborating once again with BBC iPlayer and BBC Three in partnership with streaming giants Netflix and German broadcaster ZDFneo. The writing team sees Holly Jackson collaborating alongside Poppy Cogan, with Jackson taking on additional responsibilities as co-writer for this season. Jackson expressed her excitement through an official statement, revealing her profound gratitude toward the dedicated fanbase that made this continuation possible and her enthusiasm about reuniting with what she fondly calls her “AGGGTM family.”

Poppy Cogan shared her own enthusiasm about returning to Little Kilton, emphasizing the privilege of bringing another of Jackson’s compelling narratives to life on screen. The production completed filming over two distinct blocks, with Asim Abbasi directing the first portion and Jill Robertson taking the helm for the second half of production.

The executive producer lineup remains stacked with industry veterans, including Matthew Read, Simon Crawford Collins, and Frith Tiplady representing Moonage Pictures, alongside Lucy Richer, Danielle Scott-Haughton, and Katherine Bond for the BBC. Jackson and Cogan round out the production leadership, ensuring that the creative vision remains consistent with what audiences have come to expect.

The Story Continues: What Awaits Pip in Season 2

Good Girl, Bad Blood picks up in the aftermath of Pip’s first investigation, which proved definitively that Sal Singh was innocent in the disappearance and death of Andie Bell while unearthing uncomfortable truths that fundamentally transformed Little Kilton’s social fabric. Having exposed secrets that left lasting scars across the community and taken a significant personal toll, Pip intends to distance herself from detective work entirely. She hopes to repair relationships strained by her relentless pursuit of truth and simply move forward with her life.

However, fate has other plans. As Max Hastings’ trial approaches and threatens to bring closure to the town’s most scandalous chapter, key witness Jamie Reynolds vanishes without a trace. The sudden disappearance of someone so integral to the impending legal proceedings forces Pip back into the role she swore to abandon, launching her into a frantic race against time to locate Jamie before it’s too late. This new investigation promises to catapult Pip into unexpected territory while forcing her to grapple with increasingly complex questions surrounding justice and morality. The narrative threatens to push her even further from the “good girl” identity she once wore so comfortably, challenging everything she thought she knew about herself and her capabilities.

Global Release Information and Availability

Season 2 will premiere globally on Netflix on May 27, 2026, though territorial restrictions apply due to co-production agreements. Audiences in the United Kingdom and Ireland can access episodes exclusively through BBC Three and BBC iPlayer, while German viewers will find the series streaming on ZDFneo. Australian audiences can tune in through Stan, with New Zealand arrangements following similar patterns. The first season remains available on Netflix for viewers wishing to refresh their memory before diving into the next chapter of Pip’s journey.

The ambitious six-episode season spans approximately 45 minutes per installment, delivering a substantial narrative that producers promise will be bigger, darker, and more emotionally resonant than its predecessor. With higher stakes, surprising twists, and a mystery that delves into unexplored aspects of Little Kilton’s troubled landscape, Season 2 appears poised to exceed the remarkable success that defined the show’s initial run, which accumulated over 148 million viewing hours by the end of 2025 and resonated particularly strongly with younger audiences worldwide.
