Prime Video has officially announced that the highly anticipated feature-length sports documentary, Go Deep: The DeSean Jackson Story, will premiere globally on September 24. Alongside the release date, the streaming platform has unveiled the official trailer and key art, offering a fascinating sneak peek into a project that promises to go far beyond the typical sports highlight reel.
Produced by Adam McKay’s HyperObject Industries, Cover Story, and JacksonOneMedia, the documentary is directed and written by Mandon Lovett. The film will be available to Prime members in over 240 countries and territories worldwide.

This footage was shot entirely by Byron Jackson, DeSean’s older brother. Byron Jackson was a highly talented football player who spent two seasons on the practice squad for the Kansas City Chiefs. However, he eventually walked away from professional sports to dedicate himself to his true calling: filmmaking.
Byron Jackson turned his camera toward his family, recording daily life year after year. The result is an incredibly intimate, unvarnished portrait of a father and his two sons. The footage reveals their deep-seated bonds, their immense sacrifices, their personal conflicts, and their shared, relentless drive toward a better future.

DeSean Jackson spent much of his life carrying the immense weight of his father’s aspirations. From the moment Bill Jackson advised his youngest son to set his sights on the NFL, his destiny was locked in. Despite being overlooked and considered undersized at various points in his development, his remarkable athletic gifts were undeniable.
DeSean Jackson first gained widespread attention by winning a state championship in 2004 with Long Beach Polytechnic High School. He went on to earn All-American honors at the University of California, Berkeley, before launching a stellar 15-year career in the NFL.
During his time in the league, he suited up for franchises including the Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Commanders, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Las Vegas Raiders, Baltimore Ravens, and Los Angeles Rams. Throughout his career, he racked up 641 receptions and scored 66 touchdowns, including four on punt returns.
He holds a unique place in football history as the only player to win an NFL game with a walk-off punt return touchdown, a historic feat accomplished in 2010 against the New York Giants. Furthermore, he holds the NFL record for the most career touchdowns of 60 yards or more, with 26. Currently, he is charting a new path as the head football coach for the Delaware State Hornets.
