STARZ network has officially unveiled the promotional trailer and key art for SWAT Exiles, an intense and action-packed new drama slated to premiere on Friday, September 25. Serving as a spin-off to the widely popular franchise, this fresh addition elevates the stakes of its predecessor while launching an exciting new chapter for viewers.
Fresh episodes will drop weekly on Fridays, available for streaming exclusively via the STARZ application and across all associated digital and on-demand platforms throughout the United States.
A Familiar Leader Faces a Brand-New Mission
Returning to the spotlight, series star and executive producer Shemar Moore steps back into his iconic boots as LAPD Sergeant Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson. Throughout his storied career, Hondo has championed the philosophy that true dedication and trust are forged through experience rather than mere circumstance.
However, a catastrophic raid resulting in the tragic death of young operative Nico Reyes shatters Hondo’s world, compelling him to walk away from the profession he loves. Salvation arrives in the unexpected form of his former commanding officer, Robert Hicks, who extends an ultimate opportunity for redemption: assemble an unconventional tactical unit comprised entirely of the department’s most gifted misfits.
Meet the Underdog Squad
This newly formed crew is far from standard protocol. The roster features:
- Sammy Bishop: A firearms influencer eager to prove her mettle.
- Ethan Cole: A brilliant tactical mind with eccentric social habits.
- Cassidy Reed: A guarded operator determined to secure her standing.
- Jude Callan: A volatile wildcard haunted by his history.
- Malik Anderson: A sharp, ambitious operative concealing dangerous secrets.
Operating under Hondo’s guidance, these individuals form the “Exiles”—a collective widely expected to fail, yet driven by an unyielding desire to succeed.

Corruption, Conspiracies, and a Fight for Survival
As the team navigates the high-pressure criminal underworld of Los Angeles—confronting cartel assassins, weapon smugglers, and a volatile urban populace—Hondo uncovers a disturbing pattern. Someone within his own ranks is leaking sensitive operations to external forces.
What initially feels like paranoia soon hardens into a stark reality: the entire tactical division is being systematically undermined. A powerful entity desires the dissolution of the traditional unit to clear the path for a privatized, easily manipulated alternative devoid of public accountability.
Trapped between safeguarding his subordinates, uncovering the truth, and evading powerful adversaries seeking his downfall, Hondo must navigate a labyrinth of shifting alliances. As loyalties face ultimate trials, the season builds toward a explosive confrontation that will dictate not only their professional futures, but the very existence of tactical law enforcement.
