He expressed that if the project didn’t offer a new perspective, there would be no reason to attempt it.

One of the most anticipated moments in any version of Carrie is the infamous prom scene. Mike Flanagan has teased that this sequence will be a “showstopper” and perhaps the most ambitious undertaking of his professional life. He revealed that the shot list for this specific sequence included roughly 185 unique setups, making it the most complex scene he has ever directed.
