All the major OTT players are looking at South these days with Netflix, Disney+Hotstar and SonyLiv coming out with films and shows targeting the audience of South India.

Amazon Prime Video too which doesn’t want to fall behind has announced the release of an interesting lineup of Tamil movies starting from September to woo the Tamil audience after tasting great success with films Soorarai Pottru and Sarpatta Parambarai.

Though the theaters have opened across the country, the OTT fever still grips the audience as they get the opportunity to watch different content from the comfort of their homes and this has become the cash cow for the digital platforms who want to capture the South market which had immense potential.

As a result Amazon Prime Video who want to be ahead in this race is coming with films that are definitely a notch above the rest. Take a look at these which are being produced by the star couple Suriya and Jyothika. Among these, Jai Bhim with Suriya in the lead role will be the icing on the cake.

1. Raame Aandalum Raavane Aandalum

RARA (Raame Aandalum Raavane Aandalum) is about a village and its struggle to figure out a future. It stars Krish, Ramya Pandian and Vani Bhojan, in the lead, and is directed by Arisil Moorthy.

Amazon Prime Video announced recently that this rural story will be released on their platform in September 2021. Along with this, a poster from the film recently released has revealed the rural look along with love and hardships that revolve around a family oriented tale.

In the midst of struggle, watch them figure their way out!

2. Udanpirappe

Udanpirappe seems to be set against a religious backdrop and most obviously a love story featuring M Sasikumar and Jyothika in the lead roles with a rural background. The film is directed by Era Saravanan.

It has been revealed now that Udanpirappe will be released on Amazon Prime Video in October 2021. The poster of the film depicts Sasikumar and Jyothika on either side of a tree with a deity in the centre reflecting the sentimental angle of the story.

There might be differences in their opinions, but their fight is for the same win.

3. Jai Bhim

After the immensely successful Soorarai Pottru, Suriya’s next standalone project is Jai Bhim. In this Tamil film, he will don the robes of a lawyer. The movie is being helmed by Tha Se Gnanavel and will also have Prakash Raj in a pivotal role. Not just that, Jai Bhim will also reunite the successful pairing of Suriya and Rajisha Vijayan.

Suriya announced the movie on Twitter recently with the caption “Equality is our birthright!!!” One of the most anticipated Tamil films, it is slated for a November 2021 premiere on Amazon Prime Video. This offering from Amazon Prime Video will be a shot in the arm for the fans of Suriya who were disappointed with the short Guitar Kambi Mele Nindru featured in the recently released anthology Navarasa.

4. Oh My doG

A feast to all the pet lovers in the form of Oh My doG that captures the beautiful relationship between humans and dogs. Directed by Sarov Shanmugam, this film stars the father-son duo of Arun Vijay and Arnav Vijay in the lead. Arun Vijay recently shared on Twitter how emotional it was to watch his son making acting debut and first look of this film was revealed by Suriya with a caption, “A tale of friendship, between a boy and his best friend”! Oh My doG is due for release in the month of December.
