After a notable exit from Saturday Night Live, comedian Chloe Fineman is shifting gears with a move that feels both professional and personal. Following her departure from the sketch comedy staple—a decision she described as starting her “next chapter”—Fineman has officially signed on for a regular role in Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of the Myron Bolitar book series, created by acclaimed author Harlan Coben.

A Full-Circle Moment for Fineman

The transition into a dramatic role is a significant milestone for the performer. In a heartfelt Instagram update shared on July 20, Fineman reflected on her journey, noting that nearly a decade ago, her Saturday Night Live audition tape featured impressions of characters from the hit drama Big Little Lies. Finding herself cast in a project helmed by Big Little Lies creator David E. Kelley is the realization of a long-held career aspiration. Fineman expressed that she is “so excited and grateful” to be entering this new, more serious phase of her acting career.

Who Is Joining the Roster?

Fineman is stepping into the role of Parker Quinn, a dedicated and highly respected sports journalist known for her integrity and deep passion for athletics. She joins a stacked ensemble cast that features Colin Woodell as the titular character, Myron Bolitar.

The production has assembled a variety of high-profile talent, including Jabari Banks of Bel-Air fame, who will portray Dwayne Richmond, a charismatic tennis prodigy and the crown jewel of Bolitar’s sports agency. Other notable cast members include Jamie McShane, known for his work in Task and Wednesday, who will play NYPD detective Ray Dimonte, and Ben McKenzie, who joins in a recurring capacity as Gavin Pierce—a powerful sports agent with a complicated, bitter history with Bolitar. The series also stars KJ Apa and Diane Guerrero.

The Plot of the Harlan Coben Adaptation

Based on Harlan Coben’s long-running and beloved novel series, the adaptation follows the life of Myron Bolitar, a former basketball star whose professional trajectory was cut short by a career-ending injury. Bolitar is forced to reinvent himself as a high-stakes sports agent. Utilizing his street smarts, charm, and a ruthlessly efficient partner, he navigates the cutthroat and often dangerous world of professional sports, where protecting his high-profile clients frequently puts his own safety at risk.

Behind the Scenes: The Powerhouse Production Team

The creative direction of Myron Bolitar is in expert hands. Showrunners David E. Kelley and Kyle Long are leading the writing room and serving as executive producers. The production team also features industry veterans such as Matthew Tinker and Rick Muirragui, alongside author Harlan Coben. Greg Yaitanes, whose previous work includes House of the Dragon and Presumed Innocent, has been tapped to direct multiple episodes of the series, ensuring a high-quality visual narrative for the streamer.

As Fineman leaves the late-night comedy stage, this Netflix drama positions her as a dramatic force to watch. With such a robust cast and an established storytelling foundation, Myron Bolitar is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated additions to the Netflix catalog.
