April is not an encouraging month for streaming platforms as many originals which are in the middle of production or in post-production works could not be completed and got delayed as things are not coming back to normal as fast as expected post Covid-19 pandemic as still some countries are facing the brunt of second wave of coronavirus.
Amazon anyway has lined up five originals which is not bad when compared to previous months. But nevertheless, it seems to be a quite good collection of originals that are streaming in May 2021 which touch music, human connections, adventure, and life’s choices. Take a look:
The Boy from Medellín
This is the story of one of the biggest international music stars J Balvin helmed by Emmy-winning film maker Matthew Heineman. As Belvin prepares for the latest and most important concert of his entire career as he heads back to his hometown, Medellin, Columbia to the packed sold-out stadium show. En-route, he faces anxiety and stress and how he copes up with these as he run-up to the performance is the gist.
The Boy from Medellin will be streaming from May 7.
The Underground Railroad
Pulitzer prize winning writer Colson’s Whitehead’s novel of the same name The Underground Railroad was loved by many and if you also do so, then you need to get ready to watch this limited series from Barry Jenkins slated for streaming in this month. Cora Randall, a slave who craves for freedom heads to The Underground Railroad which she thinks is just a metaphor. But it turns out to be a real underground railroad.
