Prime Video is gearing up for another massive global success within its Spanish Original slate. The streaming giant recently shared a first glimpse at Drawn Together, the highly anticipated cinematic adaptation of the Enfrentados literary series. This upcoming romantic thriller serves as the opening chapter of a planned duology based on the literary works of bestselling author Mercedes Ron, whose previous collaborations with the platform have shattered viewership records.

A Star-Studded Cast Takes Center Stage

The production features a powerhouse duo in the leading roles. Ester Expósito, who garnered international fame for her performance in the global hit series Élite, returns to the screen as Marfil Cortés. Opposite her, Hugo Diego García portrays the stoic and mysterious Sebastián Moore.

The supporting ensemble is equally impressive, bringing together a mix of seasoned veterans and rising talents. The film features Eric Massip, Pablo Molinero, Zoe Bonafonte, Lluís Homar, and Joaquín Ferreira. This diverse cast is expected to bring the high-stakes world of Mercedes Ron’s novels to life with the emotional depth and intensity fans have come to expect.

From New York Socialite to a World of Peril

The narrative of Drawn Together centers on Marfil Cortés, a young woman living a high-profile, glamorous life in New York City as the daughter of a billionaire Spanish entrepreneur. However, her world is turned upside down when she becomes the victim of a sudden, terrifying kidnapping. Although she is released under unexplained circumstances shortly after, the trauma leaves its mark.

In response to the threat, her father recruits Sebastián Moore to serve as her personal bodyguard. Initially, the relationship is defined by professional boundaries and Marfil’s fierce desire to maintain her independence. However, as the two spend more time together, their clashing personalities give way to an undeniable and complicated attraction. The story takes an even darker turn as the action shifts to Spain, where hidden enemies and old secrets emerge, forcing Marfil and Sebastián to navigate a landscape where danger lurks behind every corner and trust is a luxury they may not be able to afford.

The Creative Mastery Behind the Adaptation

The project is produced by the renowned Pokeepsie Films, a subsidiary of Banijay Iberia. Industry titans Álex de la Iglesia and Carolina Bang are at the helm as producers, ensuring the film maintains a high-quality, cinematic edge. The directorial vision is provided by Óscar Pedraza, while the task of condensing Mercedes Ron’s rich prose into a screenplay was handled by Sofía Cuenca.

A Growing Legacy of Spanish Storytelling

Drawn Together signifies the third major partnership between Prime Video and Mercedes Ron. Following the massive success of the Culpables trilogy, this new project reinforces the platform’s commitment to producing high-end Spanish content for a global audience. The Enfrentados duology, which will eventually include the sequel Drawn Apart, is scheduled for an exclusive worldwide debut in 2026. The film will reach subscribers in over 240 countries and territories, further cementing the influence of Spanish-language narratives on the international streaming market.
