Navarasa, the Tamil anthology consisting of nine short films based on nine ‘rasas’ (emotions) – anger, compassion, courage, disgust, fear, laughter, love, peace and wonder is the much anticipated show of the month.
It features popular actors from Kollywood, Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swami, Siddharth, Prakash Raj, Saravanan, Alagam Perumal, Revathy, Nithya Menen, Parvathy Thiruvothu and Aishwarya Rajesh in the films directed by renowned directors, Bejoy Nambiar, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Karthik Subbaraj, Karthick Naren, K.V. Anand, Ponram, Rathindran Prasad and Halitha Shameem. Navarasa which is being co-presented by Mani Rathnam is all set to take you through a roller coaster ride of emotions.
Shershaah

Based on the life of 1999 Kargil war hero, Param Vir Chakra awardee Vikram Batra, Shershaah will premiere on August 12 on Amazon Prime Video.
Siddharth Malhotra is seen in the lead role with Kiara Advani essaying the role of Dimple Cheema, the fiancée of Captain Batra who remained unmarried after he was martyred.
Directed by Vishnu Vardhan, Shershaah, which refers to the code name given to Batra, depicts the life of the martyr from his younger days to the days of supreme sacrifice for his country.
Kuruthi

The Malayalam thriller Kuruthi starring Prithviraj Sukumaran has skipped the theatrical release and will be premiered on Amazon Prime Video on August 11.
Manu Warrier is the director of the film being produced by Prithviraj, will bring the edge-of-the-seat experience as seen from its teaser released recently. Roshan Mathew, Murali Gopy, Shine Tom Chacko, Mamukoya, Srinda, Manikandan R Achari, Navas Vallikkunnu, Naslen, and Sagar Surya are the actors in Kuruthi who play important characters.

This Manoj Bajpayee starrer is another crime thriller, helmed by Rensil D’Silva, with Neena Gupta and Sakshi Tanwar in pivotal roles. Bajpayee will don the uniform of a cop playing the character of Nikhil Sood who will be challenged by a woman who takes his wife and son as hostages.
Seems to be inspired by The Call, Halle Berry’s psychological thriller, Dial 100 presents some gripping moments that can hook the viewers by the uniqueness of the plot.

This film marks the come back of the veteran Amol Palekar after a decade which is inspired by the story of 200 dalit women who took law into their hands by lynching the criminals in an open court. Barun Sobti, Rinku Rajguru, Sahil Khattar, Saloni Batra, Indraneil Sengupta, and Upendra Limay are the other actors who will be seen in important characters in this Zee5 original film 200-Halla Ho.
Bhuj: The Pride of India

The re-construction of Bhuj airbase during 1971 Indo-Pak war is the backdrop of this film starring Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt,, Sonakshi Sinha, Sharad Kelkar and Ammy Virk.
This tells the story of IAF Squadron leader Vijay Karnik (Ajay Devgn) who motivates the people and women in particular who were instrumental in construction of this airbase in a village in Madhapar.
Maestro

Maestro, the Telugu feature film which is a remake of Andhadhun starring Nithiin, Tamannah, and Nabha Natesh will stream on Disney+Hotstar whose premiere date is tentatively fixed on August 15 which is yet to be confirmed officially.

Directed by Sarang Sathaye and Paula McGlynn, this Marathi comedy series featuring Abhay Mahajan (Shreyas), Alok Rajwade (Dinar) and Lalit Prabhakar (Prasanna) who take a road trip to Goa will be streaming on SonyLiv on August 13. Shikha Talsania who got recognition with films Veere Di Wedding, Wake Up Sid, and Coolie No.1 is making her digital debut with Shantit Kranti.
Ayngaran

Mahima Nambiar and musician turned actor G.V. Prakash Kumar’s social drama, Ayngaran is a thriller about an engineer, whose inventions are rejected by society. But his life takes a turn when his invention saves a child from a manhole. Directed by Ravi Arasu of Eetti fame, Ayngaran also stars Kaali Venkat, Hareesh Peradi and Aruldoss in other important roles. The tentative date of streaming is August 13 which is to be confirmed.
Kasada Thapara

Sundeep Kishan, Regina Cassandra, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Venkat Prabhu, Shanthanu, and Harish Kalyan starrer Kasada Thapara, an anthology is ready to stream on SonyLiv digital platform.
Directed by Chimbu Devan, the film with an interesting tagline “Tales of Madras”, has six different angles in a single story.
Yuvan Shankar Raja, Santhosh Narayanan, Sam CS, Sean Roldan, Premgi Amaren, and Ghibran have composed music for this anthology.
