Abhay Deol who was last seen in the much acclaimed time travel web series JL 50, https://snooper-scope.in/jl50review/ Mahesh Manjrekar’s directorial venture 1962: The War in the Hills and earlier featured in Hrithik Roshan’s Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is now coming with an Indo American teen drama Spin.
This coming of age film directed by the talented Manjari Makijany who is known for her Skater Girl https://snooper-scope.in/skater-girl-review-a-heart-touching-story-of-love-tears-and-triumph/ earlier this year which received accolades revolves around a teen Rhea Kumar played by Avantika Vandanapu who wants to become a DJ.
Abhay plays the role of Rhea’s father Arvind in Spin and he needs to find a way between the choices of his daughter and the expectations of his family members.
Abhay Deol has recently shared some interesting titbits while releasing the trailer of the film, ”SPIN” – THE MOVIE I am aware that most of my audience love me for making edgy, alternative narratives, that challenge the status quo. Which is why this film is all the more special as it is a departure from my own status quo, and catering to a much younger audience. “Spin” is a Disney film which will go live on their platform for the U.S audiences on the 13th of August. It is a gem of a movie, that will leave you smiling and feeling good. Blessed to be a part of it! @disneychannel”. Subsequently, Spin will stream In India on the leading digital platform Disney+Hotstar on August 15.
Meera Syal, Aryan Simhadri, Agan Darshi, Anna Cathcart, Michela Luci are among the other star cast who will play important characters in Spin produced by Zanne Dewine and written by Carley Steiner and Josh Cagan.
Rhea faces many challenges due to her passion for music in a tightly knit multigenerational family who runs a restaurant business and how she overcome them to pursue her dream forms the crux of Spin which once again bring to the fore the clash between the aspirations of teenage children and expectations of elders which makes an interesting watch.
