Renowned filmmaker Karan Johar is the new host of the first season of OTT-based reality show Bigg Boss OTT. He dropped the teaser of this show on Instagram on Tuesday.

Karan Johar further revealed that the show will be streaming seamlessly 24X7 on the digital platform Voot, unlike the television version of the show that used to be telecast in the form of one-hour-long episodes every day.

On this occasion, a new concept of awarding punishments to the contestants was announced by Karan who shared that the punishments for contestants of Bigg Boss OTT will be decided by the viewers for a change which marks the participation of viewers in a big way so that they can choose whom to punish and whom to reward.

Till now, the viewers don’t have the choice in punishing the contestants except to vote for their favourite contestants. By involving the viewers, Bigg Boss OTT is going one step ahead in giving free hand to the viewers which could turn out to be an interesting aspect of this show.

Karan Johar has further elaborated about the new show while sharing the video on Instagram “Starting 8th August, 8:00 pm on every Sunday and catch the episodes at 7 pm on Mon-Sat and LIVE 24×7 all days,” he shared the caption of the post.

There was a positive response not only from the viewers but also from celebrity filmmakers like Ekta Kapoor, Tahira Kashyap, and fashion designer Seema Khan who have responded with encouraging comments and showed their love in the form of emojis for the show.

Well known singer Neha Bhasin, model, VJ, actor, and singer Anusha Dandekar, TV actress Ridhima Pandit, model, and actor Pratik Sehajpal, actress-model Divya Agarwal, Bhojpuri actress Akshara Singh, model-actress and fashion blogger Neha Malik, Manasvi Vashist, South Indian star Pavithra Lakshmi, Karan Nath, Urfi Javed of Puncch Beat fame, Zeeshan Khan are the contestants who will be seen in Bigg Boss OTT.
