The most critically acclaimed film Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele directed by Harish Vyas was premiered in November 2019 at the South Asian International Film Festival in New York where it won the Best Film Award. The Indian premiere was held at the Kashish Mumbai International Queer Film Festival in 2020 and also won Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Actess awards in Rajasthan Film Festival in January 2020.

Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele is the story of Veer played by Anshuman Jha who is a gay and Mansi played by Zareen Khan, a lesbian. A road trip by this couple from Delhi to McLeodganj in Himachal Pradesh and events that follow during the course of their trip change their lives with emphasis on same sex relationships and sexual orientation.

Anshuman Jha who has doubled up as a producer of this film felt that playing the character of Veer was the most challenging one whereas Zareen expressed that It’s a story that’s close to her heart and needs to come out in society, especially in a country like India.

Harish Vyas who earlier made Angrezi Mein Kehte Hai, featuring Sanjay Mishra, Anshuman and Pankaj Tripathi has touched a very sensitive and highly debated subject in Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele which is going to stream on the digital platform Disney+Hotstar from May 9.

Two friends set out on an adventure of a lifetime, and discover something beautiful that bonds them ✨
We’re all looking for a place to belong, someone to love 💕 Love is love 🏳️‍🌈
