The OTT landscape continues to be enriched by regional content that tackles pressing societal issues while delivering entertainment. Objection My Lord, a Telugu web series now streaming on ZEE5, attempts to blend courtroom intrigue with a socially relevant narrative. Headlined by veteran actor Srikanth, the show promises a sincere exploration of justice, bureaucracy, and personal redemption. In this review we dissect the series’ plot, performances, technical craftsmanship, and overall impact to help you decide whether it deserves a spot on your watchlist.

Synopsis

Narayana, a desperate father, approaches the police after his daughter Sameera vanishes, only to be met with indifference. Frustrated, he files a petition in the High Court, but the lack of concrete evidence discourages lawyers from taking the case. Overwhelmed by the system’s apathy, Narayana ends his life on the court premises. His tragic demise sparks advocate Parashuram (Srikanth) to launch a Public Interest Litigation, determined to uncover the truth behind Sameera’s disappearance and challenge the institutional neglect that facilitated it. As the litigation unfolds, viewers are taken through a series of legal maneuvers, personal sacrifices, and unexpected revelations that question the very fabric of accountability. The story stays focused on the pursuit of justice without revealing the final outcome, preserving the suspense that drives the narrative forward.

Performances

Srikanth shoulders the series with a nuanced portrayal of an advocate whose confidence is repeatedly tested. His evolution from a self‑doubting lawyer to a relentless fighter feels authentic, especially in moments where courtroom ridicule chips away at his resolve. The actor’s ability to convey vulnerability alongside steely determination makes Parashuram a compelling protagonist.

Supporting cast members add depth to the legal drama. Ananya Sharma, as Parashuram’s diligent assistant, provides the emotional anchor that helps the protagonist regain his footing. Mukesh Rishi, portraying the opposing counsel, engages in courtroom exchanges that are deliberately theatrical yet effective in propelling the plot. Rayala Harishchandra, Snehal Kamat, Gemini Suresh, and Sameer each deliver competent performances in their respective roles, ensuring that the ensemble never feels flat.

Behind the Lens

Director Santhosh Ayyappan adopts a straightforward storytelling style, allowing the courtroom proceedings to take center stage. The cinematography by Suryaa, who also serves as showrunner, captures the austere ambience of the legal setting with steady frames and focused close‑ups that emphasize facial expressions during tense dialogues. Production designer Brahma Kadali’s courtroom set feels authentic, lending credibility to the legal battles depicted on screen.

Arunn Chiluveru’s background score complements the narrative without overpowering it, underscoring key moments of revelation and despair. Editing by Sai Kishore Kornani maintains a crisp rhythm, though the final episode feels hurried, slightly diluting the impact of the climax’s major reveal. Minor technical hiccups, here and there though noticeable do not significantly mar the viewing experience. Overall, the production values are solid, reflecting a respectable effort given the series’ modest scale.

Final Verdict

Objection My Lord succeeds as a sincere courtroom drama that delivers a clear social message about institutional apathy and the power of individual perseverance. Srikanth’s committed performance anchors the series, while the supporting cast provides adequate reinforcement. The narrative’s pacing is largely engaging, with sufficient twists to keep viewers hooked, although the rushed conclusion and underexplored family subplot prevent the show from reaching its full potential.

For fans of legal thrillers and regional OTT offerings, the series is a worthwhile watch—especially if you appreciate stories that blend entertainment with a call for societal reflection. While it may not break new ground in the genre, its honest intentions, competent performances, and tidy runtime make it a recommendable addition to your weekend lineup.
