November 2021 OTT releases to lit up the smiles this festive season

This Diwali is packed with some interesting premiers in various languages that are going to lit up the smiles in addition to some exciting theatrical releases.

All the leading digital platforms are geared up to fill the homes with lights and smiles with never ending entertainment streaming in the form of some exciting films and web series lined up in this month of November.

Let’s take a look at some of those OTT releases here:

1. Jai Bhim

Streaming Platform: Amazon Prime Video

Date of Streaming: Nov.2, 2021

The third film from the house of Jyothika-Suriya 2D Entertianment this year is Jai Bhim starring Suriya. Directed by T.J. Gnanavel this is a legal drama based on true events that took place in 1993.

2. Akkad Bakkad Rafu Chakkar

Streaming Platform: Amazon Prime Video

Date of Streaming: November 3, 2021

Raj Kaushal, the late husband of Mandira Bedi’s last directorial venture Akkad Bakkad Rafu Chakkar stars Vicky Arora, Anuj Rampal, Swati Semwal, Mohan Agashe, Shishir Sharma, and Manish Chaudhari in lead roles. Written by Aman Khan and produced by Refuel Productions, this hilarious series centers around a ‘fake bank’ opened by one of the lead characters to attract people to deposit their money in their bank and escape with the booty.

3. MGR Magan

Streaming Platform: Disney+Hotstar

Date of Streaming: November 4, 2021

Slated for a theatrical release this April, MGR Magan featuring Sasi Kumar, Samurhirakani, Mirnalini Rao, and Sathyaraj is ready to premiere on OTT platform. Directed by Ponran, this action comedy is produced by Screen Scene Media Entertainment Pvt Ltd.. and this is the back to back film for Sasikumar who also featured in Udanpirappe which was digitally released recently.

4. Meenakshi Sundareshwar

Streaming Platform: Netflix

Date of Streaming: November 5, 2021

“What happens when lives are brought together by names but uprooted by fate and distance?” This says it all about this romantic comedy set in Madurai, Tamil Nadu starring Abhimanyu Dassani and Sanya Malhotra in lead roles which is directed by Vivek Soni.

5. Dopesick

Streaming Platform: Diseny+Hotstar

Date of Streaming: November 12, 2021

The miniseries dwells on the story of a company which triggered the worst ever epidemic in the American History. An intense and thrilling ride from the board rooms to the mining corridors encompassing the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the 8-episode series of Dopesick based on true events stars Michael, Peter Sarsgaard, Michael Stuhlbarg, Willl Poulter, John Hoogenakker, Kaitlyn Dever, and Rosario Dawson.

6. Special OPS 1.5: The Himmat Story

Streaming Platform: Disney+Hotstar

Date of Streaming: November 12, 2021

Neeraj Pandey’s Special Ops 1.5 essays the story of Himmat Singh before diving into the Season 2 of the most popular web series Special Ops. The short series comprising of just 3-episodes of one hour each will chronicle the life of Himmat Singh as the RAW agent presenting him in various shades while he combats various challenges hurled at him on his way.

7. Red Notice

Streaming Platform: Netflix

Date of Streaming: November 12, 2021

This Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot action comedy releasing in theaters on November 5 in the US is slated for an early digital release. Directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, Red Notice brings the rivals into loggerheads with each other after a daring heist resulting in a no holds barred showdown.

8. Kanakam Kamini Kalaham

Streaming Platform: Disney+Hotstar

Date of Streaming: November 12, 2021

Android Kunjappan fame Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval directs this satirical Malayalam feature film starring Nivin Pauly, Grace antony, Vinay Fort, Vincy Aloshious, Sudheesh, Rajesh Madhavan, Jaffer Idukki, and Joy Mathew.

9. Tiger King Season 2

Streaming Platform: Netflix

Date of Streaming: November 17, 2021

The most admirable docuseries Tiger King enters the second season which is going to be more chaotic than the first season that has become hot favourite of many during the Covid-19 pandemic. Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin are going to reprise along with some more owners of big cats who are going to feature in the new season that is nothing short of a mayhem.

10. Dhamaka

Streaming Platform: Netflix

Date of Streaming: November 19, 2021

The official remake of South Korean film The Terror Live, Dhamaka features Kartik Aaryan in an intense role of a journalist. Mrunal Thakul plays the female lead in this film directed by Ram Madhvani who is also a co-producer along with Ronnie Screwvala and Anita Madhvani.

11. Chhorii

Streaming Platform: Amazon Prime Video

Date of Streaming: To be Announced

A remake of Marathi horror film Lapachhapi, Chorii features Nushratt Bharuccha in the lead role supported by Mita Vashisht, Rajesh Jais, and Saurabh Goyal. Directed by Vishal Furia, this is produced by Vikram Malhotra, Jack Davis, and Bhushan Kumar who tied up with Crypt TV, an American Entertainment company that specializes in horror content on television.

To add, there are some more interesting original series The Great Season 2 on Hulu, The Wheel of Time on Amazon Prime Video, Cowboy Bebop and Korean series Hell Bound on Netflix are streaming on November 19, 2021.

Also original movies, Love Hard on November 5 and Passing on November 10 on Netflix, and Home Sweet Home Alone, Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings and Jungle Cruise on November 12 on Disney+Hotstar are some exciting original movies that are streaming in the month of November.

The sequels of popular web series like Asur 2, Inside Edge 3, Code M 2, Masaba Masaba 2, Four More Shots Please 3, and Mirzapur 3 whose dates are yet to be announced by the streaming partners are also going to stream soon either in November or in December to end the festive season on an enterprising note,
