A subtle and slick attempt to demonstrate the intricacies of a marriage

Honeymoon is the dream of every newly married couple. Honeymoon helps the couple understand each other well and ensure that they get intimate not only physically but emotionally and mentally too. The Kannada web series Honeymoon dubbed into Telugu by Aha and streaming now offers one such enlightenment by delving on various aspects of understanding and compatibility between couples which is important for the survival and sustainment of any marriage.

Story-line

The newly married couple Praveen (Nagabhushana) and Tejaswini (Sanjana Anand) flies to God’s own country Kerala for Honeymoon. Praveen who is still a virgin is more excited and wants to get more out of this Honeymoon but one thing or the other keeps the young couple away from each other.

Praveen who gets restless shares his feelings while Tejaswini reveals a secret about her past which makes Praveen more tizzy but later realizes the honesty of Tejaswini and starts loving her more.

Finally, the Honeymoon imparts new meaning to the marriage life of Praveen and Tejaswini who went onto become the happiest couple once they are back from their Honeymoon as a more understanding and enlightened couple.

Performances

It’s Nagabhushana who takes the bigger slice of cake when it comes to acting which he does with flair and flamboyance while Sanjana Anand captivates with her beauty and graceful performance turning the on-screen chemistry between them into a treat to watch. They both have succeeded in presenting the characters of a perfect couple to the hilt.

While Nagabhushna has expressed anxiety, innocence, and confusion remarkably, Sanjana Anand has done her job by carrying the urban and matured outlook brilliantly due to which the scenes involving both of them look more attractive and resplendent.

In other characters, Mahadev as the travel agent, Anand Ninasam as the father-in-law, and Apoorva Bharadwaj as Daisy though in limited space characters have done well to make Honeymoon a lovable package.

Behind the scenes

The writing of Nagabhushana is spot on though the theme he selected is not a novel one. His execution of the story with Tejesh Ganesh, his co-creative director emphasizing the understanding between the couple while adding the fun element without any deviation deserves all the accolades.

The photography of Shreesha Kuduvalli has captured the beautiful locales of Kerala quite admirably and those swirling backwaters and greenery have added the extra charm to this short web series.

The award-winning young music director Vasuki Vaibhav has created pure magic once again with his soulful music. It showcases the immense talent possessed by this youngster who is also seen in a cameo in this series and his sheer dedication shown irrespective of any format or genre is something which needs to be appreciated wholeheartedly.

Verdict & Rating

Compatibility, understanding, and trust are important for any marriage to get along and become successful. Honeymoon is a subtle and slick attempt to demonstrate the intricacies of a marriage with an underlying fun element to create the required impact on young minds.

Give it a sincere try forgetting about the theme which may look quite familiar but watch it for the freshness and catch the feelings of a young couple who want to live a life that is full of happiness and enjoyment leaving all the worries and baggage behind.

Honeymoon is strongly recommended for all newly married couples out there to figure out a thing or two from this series to lead happily ever after lives.
