Ed Sheeran, the globally acclaimed British singer-songwriter, has recently shared a video on his Instagram account that has sent his Indian and Punjabi fans into a frenzy. The video shows Sheeran riding in an auto-rickshaw through the bustling streets of Mumbai, singing a new song called “Sapphire.” What has caught the attention of his fans is the inclusion of Punjabi lyrics in the song, which has added a distinctly Indian flavor to the track.

The Instagram video has exploded in popularity, racking up millions of views and thousands of comments globally. Fans are particularly captivated by the Punjabi chorus, specifically the lyrics “Cham cham chamke sitaare wargi,” which translate to “Stars shine and sparkle like a chain.” This exotic touch has significantly enhanced the song’s appeal, especially among Indian listeners.

Sheeran’s love for India is well-known, and the singer has often spoken about his fondness for the country and its culture. Earlier this year, Sheeran performed in Mumbai as part of his Divide Tour, and the concert was a massive success. The singer also collaborated with Indian music producer and composer, Ranjit Barot, for the track “Shape of You,” which featured Indian instrumentation and rhythms.

The video for “Sapphire” has further solidified Sheeran’s connection with India, and fans are thrilled to see the singer embracing Indian culture in such a meaningful way. The video shows Sheeran waving and giving high-fives to people on the streets, as he sings along to the catchy tune of “Sapphire.” The singer’s infectious energy and enthusiasm are palpable in the video, and it is clear that he had a great time shooting it.

Along with the video, Sheeran added a caption that read, “Riding around the streets of India, missing high-fives. Sapphire out June 5th, 8:30am ET / 1:30pm BST / 6pm IST.” Fans were quick to notice the Punjabi lyrics and flooded the comment section with their reactions. One fan commented, “Cham Cham chamke SITARE VARGEE!!!” while another wrote, “Someone please give him an Aadhaar card already.” A third user added, “This is gonna be THE SONG of the year.”

The singer has been teasing the song for a while now, and in a recent Instagram post, he revealed that his upcoming album, “Play,” was inspired by his emotional journey and his love for exploring cultures. He wrote, “Play was an album that was made as a direct response to the darkest period of my life. Coming out of all of that, I just wanted to create joy and technicolour, and explore cultures in the countries I was touring.”

“Sapphire” is a clear example of Sheeran’s desire to explore new cultures and incorporate diverse musical elements into his work. The track is a fusion of pop, folk, and Indian music, and it is a testament to Sheeran’s versatility as a musician. The singer’s ability to connect with audiences around the world, regardless of language or cultural barriers, is truly remarkable.

In conclusion, Ed Sheeran’s new video for “Sapphire” has created a buzz among his fans, particularly in India. The inclusion of Punjabi lyrics and the singer’s obvious love for the country have made the track even more special for Indian audiences. Sheeran’s willingness to embrace new cultures and incorporate diverse musical elements into his work is a testament to his versatility as a musician. “Sapphire” is a song that is sure to delight fans around the world, and it is a clear indication that Sheeran’s upcoming album, “Play,” is going to be a must-listen.
