Nagesh Kukunoor’s political drama City Of Dreams is coming with the new season from July 30 on Disney+Hotstar. The trailer released on Wednesday is more intriguing with the fight for power taking an ugly turn with the family members of Gaikwad calling for the blood of the other with the patriarch Ameya Rao Gaikwad (Atul Kulkarni) wants his daughter Poornima Rao Gaikwad (Priya Bapat) to be killed.

A hard-hitting political drama with the layers of deceit, betrayal, and backstabbing is meant to engage the audience yet another time. The family feud takes its toll as the State goes to dogs with uncertainty and anarchy prevailing all over and how the State gets saved and who will be that savior who can put an end to this chaos has to be seen in Season 2.

Priya Bapat will display her finesse once again while Atul’s subtle display of emotions will be the centre of attraction in the new season. Along with these two, Sachin Pilgaonkar and Eijaz Khan will reprise their roles as Chief Minister Jagdish Gaurav and SI Wasim Khan respectively. Sushant Singh will be the new addition to the cast in the new season who will play an important character.

Nagesh Kukunoor spilled more beans about the plot in Season 2 and said that it will be murkier than the first outing and added, “As the story of the political power battle in the Gaikwad family goes forward, I hope that we can live up to the audience’s expectations! It’s going to get murkier and personal, and the fight for power is going to destroy many households,” he said.

Atul Kulkarni who played a lot of characters that stand as testimony to his versatile talent has also mentioned that his character in City Of Dreams is more complicated as the audience will get delighted to see a sinister angle in him that makes his desire and resolve to hold a position of power is stronger than his sense of family bonds. So, obviously, he gets into a total villainish mode in this season.

Priya on the other hand is also ecstatic to play the character of Poornima with many shades that bring the best out of her.  “Poornima Gaikwad is inspiring and admirable, and it has been heartening to see how the character has appealed to audiences, especially women who found her empowering. In the second season, the audience will see an even more daring, grittier, and determined Poornima whose political ambitions take precedence over anything else,” Priya elaborated on shaping up of her character that is more intrinsic with a killer instinct in this tussle for power.

The Hotstar Specials web series of City Of Dreams Season 2 bankrolled by Applause Entertainment and Kukunoor Movies will be streaming in 6 language versions apart from Hindi on July 30.
