Beans On Toast is back with a thoughtful new release that captures the mood of the moment. The single “We’re Still Here” arrives alongside news of a forthcoming album and a series of intimate shows across the United Kingdom. Writer Ian Corbridge from Louder Than War spoke with the artist while he was situated on the banks of the Huon River in Tasmania, a setting that clearly influenced the record’s tone.
As the festive season approaches, Beans On Toast prepares to share more songs, stories and personal reflections that highlight family, community, hope and positivity, without shying away from the challenges present in today’s world. The new track serves as a preview for the album and the accompanying tour, giving listeners a first glimpse of what is to come.
The song “We’re Still Here” is taken from the upcoming record titled “The Great Unravelling”. The album is slated for release on 1 December, which coincides with the artist’s birthday. Recording took place in January 2026 on the tranquil shores of the Huon River in Tasmania. The production features electric guitar as the foundation, enriched by slide guitar lines and backing vocals supplied by emerging songwriter Nuala. Described as a collection that ponders humanity’s place in the cosmos—from distant galaxies to the routine of school drop‑offs and everyday moments—the record finds its inspiration in the Tasmanian landscape, which helped shape its contemplative atmosphere.
“We’re Still Here” stands out as a stark, sublime and beautiful statement about our current position in the world. The haunting slide guitar provides a delicate backdrop to a narrative delivered with Beans On Toast’s characteristic warmth and sincerity. The artist explains that the track centres on “finding happiness on the dark days”. The accompanying video was filmed at the very studio where the album was constructed, again on the banks of the Huon River, a location he describes as incredibly beautiful and a source of personal gratitude.
To celebrate the album’s launch, Beans On Toast will embark on a UK tour in February 2027, performing the new material alongside beloved older tracks in small, seated venues. The itinerary begins in late 2026 with shows in Basingstoke, Bath, Cheltenham, Brecon, Narberth, Wolverhampton, Preston, Huddersfield, Shipley, Aberdeen and Coatbridge. December dates continue in Whitby, York, Northampton, Norwich, Nottingham, Newcastle‑under‑Lyme, Stroud, Bournemouth, Totnes, Torrington, Worthing and Hastings. The tour resumes in February 2027 with stops in Newcastle, Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, Bristol, Southampton and London, where a matinee and evening performance are planned at Chats Palace. All previously announced dates for the remainder of 2026 remain intact, offering fans multiple opportunities to see the act live.
