Launch Date and Global Availability

Paramount+ has officially confirmed that all six installments of the British thriller Wild Cherry will debut exclusively on its platform on June 24. The streaming rollout will cover the United States, Canada, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, and Latin America, giving audiences across these territories immediate access to the much‑anticipated series.

Story Overview: Friendship, Wealth, and Scandal

Wild Cherry centers on Lorna, a self‑made entrepreneur, and her lifelong companion Juliet, who was raised amid affluence and privilege. Together they reside in an elite, gated community, raising their daughters—best friends since childhood—in an atmosphere of luxury and apparent perfection. The narrative takes a sharp turn when the daughters become embroiled in a scandal that rattles the tranquil neighborhood. As poisonous secrets surface, Lorna and Juliet find themselves on opposing sides, and the once‑flawless community begins to fracture, revealing the dark underbelly beneath the polished surface.

Cast Lineup: Stars Bringing the Drama to Life

  • Carmen Ejogo (known for True Detective and The Penguin) portrays Lorna, the determined businesswoman.
  • Eve Best (renowned for House of the Dragon and The King’s Speech) takes on the role of Juliet, the wealthy counterpart.
  • Additional talent includes Imogen Faires (Goldie’s Oldies, Marcella), Amelia May, and BAFTA‑award winner Nicôle Lecky (Mood, Sweetpea), who also created and executive‑produced the series.

The ensemble further features:

  • Sophie Winkleman (Peep Show, Sanditon)
  • Daniel Lapaine (Catastrophe)
  • Hayat Kamille (Vikings: Valhalla)
  • Isabelle Allen (Les Misérables)
  • James Murray (The Crown)
  • Jason York (Mood)

Supporting cast members include Katarina Čas (The Wolf of Wall Street), Nathaniel Martello‑White (The Winter King), Sonita Henry (Black Cake), Tara Webb (Phoenix Rise), Will Bagnall (A Thousand Blows), and Hugh Quarshie (Holby City), rounding out a diverse and powerful roster.

Creative Forces: Writers, Directors, and Producers

The series was written and created by Nicôle Lecky, whose bold vision brings a fresh perspective to the thriller genre. Toby MacDonald (director of Extraordinary and Fifteen‑Love) helmed the episodes, infusing the narrative with a keen sense of tension and atmosphere.

Production is handled by Firebird Pictures, one of BBC Studios’ owned production labels. The executive producer team comprises Elizabeth Kilgarriff, Craig Holleworth (Firebird Pictures), Lisa Walters, Toby MacDonald, and Lucy Richer for the BBC. Ado Yoshizaki Cassuto serves as producer, while BBC Studios manages worldwide distribution, ensuring the series reaches a broad international audience.

Production Insights and Distribution

Wild Cherry exemplifies the synergy between BBC Studios’ production expertise and Paramount+’s global streaming reach. Its six‑episode arc is designed to captivate viewers with a blend of psychological intrigue, character‑driven storytelling, and high‑caliber performances. The strategic release date positions the show as a flagship title for Paramount+ early in the summer, inviting both existing fans of British drama and new viewers to discover the series.

By leveraging the combined star power of acclaimed actors, a visionary creative team, and a production company with a proven track record, Wild Cherry is poised to become a standout addition to the streaming landscape this June.
