As Netflix’s global hit Stranger Things prepares to close its story with an epic fifth season, star Millie Bobby Brown is stepping into some of her most ambitious scenes yet—both physically and emotionally. The actress has shared new details on how she approached the final chapter, revealing that she tapped into her “inner Tom Cruise” to navigate high-impact stunts and intense action sequences.
Pushing Eleven to New Limits
During Netflix’s “For Your Consideration” event in Hollywood on November 9, Brown joined her fellow cast members and creators Ross and Matt Duffer to discuss the upcoming season. Reflecting on her long-running role as Eleven, she explained that Season 5’s challenges go beyond supernatural powers.
“I feel as though the Duffers have been gearing me up for this exact moment,” Brown said, noting that the focus this time is heavily on physical performance rather than purely emotional drama. According to her, Eleven’s journey in the final episodes highlights strength, agility, and endurance—skills the character has been sharpening on screen and skills Brown herself has been training for behind the scenes.
Channeling Hollywood’s Action Icons
Brown admitted that her preparation took a fresh turn this year, embracing more stunt work than ever before. “It was a blast—and I definitely channeled my inner Tom Cruise,” she revealed, hinting at bold, fast-paced sequences that fans have yet to witness. She teased that the first installment of the season will only briefly showcase what Eleven has been building toward, with later episodes delivering the full payoff.
Cast and Creators Drop Hints
Her co-star Noah Schnapp offered a lighter moment during the discussion, joking about his character Will’s perpetually serious demeanor. He explained how he plotted his storyline in advance due to the season’s intricate narrative structure. Ross Duffer playfully responded, “Lucky there’s no Season 6—otherwise we might have to write you out.”
Ross also noted that new additions to the cast, such as Terminator icon Linda Hamilton, are part of a nod to beloved ‘80s cinema. Hamilton’s role blends strategic intellect with formidable combat skills. Meanwhile, Matt Duffer shared that Nell Fisher will portray Holly Wheeler, reintroducing a youthful energy reminiscent of the show’s first season. The Duffers also joked about past difficulties filming with animals, referencing the Byers family dog that famously missed its marks. Brown added with a laugh, “Apparently, we’ve lost it.”
The Final Season Rollout
Netflix will release Stranger Things Season 5 in three staggered parts, dropping on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve, ensuring fans end the year with a trilogy of high-energy episodes.
With its mix of nostalgia, new faces, and blockbuster-level action, the show’s finale promises to be the grand send-off audiences have been waiting for—and Millie Bobby Brown is clearly more than ready to lead the charge.
