Following the massive success of its debut installment, the viral mockumentary sensation is returning to Prime Video with a fresh perspective and a brand-new setting. While the first outing focused on a simulated legal trial, the next chapter, titled Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat, takes the deception out of the courtroom and into the world of corporate team building.

A Corporate Twist on a Winning Formula

The original season of Jury Duty became a cultural phenomenon in 2023, earning a Peabody Award and several Emmy nominations for its innovative blend of documentary style and improvisational comedy. It followed Ronald Gladden, an everyday citizen who believed he was serving on a real jury, unaware that everyone else in the room was a professional actor. This time, the production team has engineered a similarly elaborate scenario involving a family-owned business called Rockin’ Grandma’s.

The plot of Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat centers on a corporate offsite event for the hot sauce manufacturer. When the founder of the business announces his retirement, the atmosphere shifts from a simple getaway into a high-stakes power struggle. The narrative explores the tension between corporate scaling and traditional family values as the characters vie for control of the company.

The New Unsuspecting Hero

Stepping into the spotlight as the unwitting subject for the second season is Anthony. Much like his predecessor, Anthony is a non-actor who believes he is participating in a legitimate professional experience. He is introduced as a temporary worker joining his new colleagues on their business trip to Agoura Hills, California.

Executive producer Nick Hatton shared that Anthony was selected from thousands of applicants due to his natural charm and kindness. According to the production team, finding the right individual to anchor the show is the secret to its success, and Anthony quickly proved to be an ideal protagonist for the unfolding chaos.

Cast and Production Details

While James Marsden became a fan favorite for playing a heightened version of himself in the first season, he will move behind the camera for the sequel. Although he does not appear in the cast of Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat, he remains an integral part of the show as an executive producer. James Marsden previously expressed his surprise at the overwhelming positive reception of the series, describing the experimental nature of the show as a significant creative risk that ultimately paid off.

The ensemble cast tasked with supporting the prank includes Alex Bonifer, Blair Beeken, Emily Pendergast, Erica Hernandez, Jerry Hauck, Jim A. Woods, LaNisa Renee Frederick, Marc-Sully Saint-Fleur, Rachel Kaly, Rob Lathan, Ryan Perez, Stephanie Hodge, Warren Burke, and Wendy Braun.

Release Schedule

Fans do not have to wait much longer to see how the new hoax unfolds. Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat is scheduled to debut on March 20. The first three episodes will be available to stream on Prime Video on the premiere date, offering an immediate look at Anthony’s journey into the world of hot sauce and corporate drama.
