Saif Ali Khan is generating buzz with his upcoming film, Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins, slated for release on Netflix platform. The trailer, unveiled recently, offers a glimpse into a thrilling and funny cat-and-mouse game, produced by Siddharth Anand of Pathaan and War fame and directed by Kookie Gulati.
The trailer introduces Jaideep Ahlawat, who sets the stage by discussing the theft of the legendary “African Red Sun” diamond. He enlists Saif Ali Khan, a renowned con man and thief, leading to a thrilling chase between the two criminals and the authorities. Kunal Kapoor plays the role of the investigating officer, adding another layer of intrigue as he attempts to catch the thieves. The central question becomes: who will secure the diamond first?
Despite sharing a title with Dev Anand’s classic Jewel Thief, the filmmakers insist there’s no connection between the two stories. They assure audiences that Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins presents an entirely original narrative, the details of which will be revealed upon the film’s release.
Alongside Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat, known for his role in the popular web series Paatal Lok, the film also features Kunal Kapoor and Nikita Dutta. Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on April 25, 2025.
