The conclusion of Blackpink’s massive ‘DEADLINE World Tour’ was meant to be a celebration. Instead, an outpouring of emotion from members Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé has sent the K-pop community into a spiral, fueling rampant rumors that the group may be heading for a disbandment.

The historic tour, which began in July 2025 at South Korea’s Goyang Stadium, wrapped up on January 26, 2026, after 33 sold-out stadium shows across the globe. The final performance at Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Stadium was a spectacle, drawing over 90,000 fans across three nights. Yet, the triumphant atmosphere was underscored by a palpable sense of finality, leaving the group’s dedicated fanbase, known as BLINKs, deeply concerned.

The most telling moment came during the group’s final address. Rosé, visibly emotional, took a heartfelt journey down memory lane. “Last night before bed, so many thoughts suddenly flashed through my mind,” she shared with the crowd. “I thought about our trainee days… and how we became Blackpink. We’ve achieved so much, all thanks to Blinks.” Her words, reflecting on their entire career with a tone of gratitude and closure, were interpreted by many as a subtle farewell.

This sentiment was echoed backstage, where photos and videos captured the four members sharing long, comforting hugs, their eyes filled with tears. These raw, unguarded moments struck a chord more powerfully than any staged performance, convincing many netizens that they were witnessing the end of an era.

Online, the reaction was immediate and emotional. Social media platforms were flooded with anxious posts from fans. “Why does it feel like farewell I’m not ready for this plz,” one user tweeted. Another stated, “blackpink crying their eyes out on their last show…yeah the disbandment is imminent.” Many fans pleaded for transparency, with one demanding, “Blinks deserve that closure,” directly from the members rather than a corporate statement.

Further fueling the speculation are the members’ increasingly successful individual careers. Jisoo and Lisa have secured leading roles in television and film, while Rosé has earned critical acclaim, including a Grammy nomination for her collaboration on “APT.” Jennie continues to be a formidable force in fashion and solo music. Their growth as distinct superstars has led many to wonder about the practicality and priority of group activities.

Despite the swirling rumors, there is still confirmed group activity on the horizon. Blackpink is set to release a new mini-album, also titled Deadline, on February 27 under YG Entertainment. Rosé directly referenced this release in Hong Kong, asking fans to “please look forward to it.”

However, the question remains: is this new music a new beginning, or a final gift to fans before the members fully dedicate themselves to their solo paths? The tearful goodbye in Hong Kong suggests that for BLINKs, preparing for the latter might be the most heartbroken yet realistic option. The world now watches and waits for an official word on the future of the group that forever changed the face of global pop music.
