The world of Indian music is in mourning following the loss of one of its most luminous stars. Legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle passed away on April 12, leaving a void that can never be filled. As fans and family members pay their respects, a heartwarming video from her last public outing has resurfaced online, serving as a poignant reminder of her enduring charm and grace. Her final appearance took place in early March at the high profile wedding of Arjun Tendulkar, the son of cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar.
A Graceful Presence at the Tendulkar Wedding
The ceremony, which was held on March 5 at the St. Regis Hotel in Mumbai, was a star studded affair. Even at the age of 92, the legendary singer made it a point to attend and bless the newlyweds. Clad in a simple yet elegant white saree, she looked the epitome of sophistication. She kept her look minimal, accessorizing with a subtle flower clip in her hair, a detail that many fans have pointed out in the viral photographs and videos currently circulating on social media.
Upon her arrival at the venue entrance, she was seen posing for the waiting paparazzi with her signature warmth. Despite her age, her smile remained as bright as ever as she offered her blessings to Arjun Tendulkar and his bride. This joyful celebration marked her final time engaging with the public and the media before her health began to decline.
The Final Days at Breach Candy Hospital
Following the wedding festivities, the singer’s health took a turn. She was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on April 11. During her brief hospitalization, her granddaughter, Zanai Bhosle, reached out to the public with a message requesting privacy for the family during the difficult time.
Her son, Anand Bhosle, confirmed the news of her passing the following day. He informed the media that his mother had moved on and shared the details for those wishing to pay their final respects. He noted that she would be kept at Casa Grande in Lower Parel, her longtime residence, before the final rites. The medical team at Breach Candy Hospital, led by Dr. Pratit Samdani, also confirmed the news. In recognition of her unparalleled contribution to the nation, the government announced that she would be cremated with full state honors at Shivaji Park.
