Gummadi Narsaiah, a name synonymous with integrity and people-centric politics, hardly needs an introduction in Telangana’s political landscape. Renowned for his unwavering dedication to the common man, Narsaiah served as the MLA of Yellandu across multiple terms — from 1983 to 1994 and once again from 1999 to 2009 — all as an independent candidate. His commitment to social equality and development earned him a special place in the hearts of the people, marking him as a true representative of the masses.
Now, his extraordinary journey is set to be immortalized on the silver screen through the upcoming biographical drama Gummadi Narsaiah. The film features Kannada superstar Dr. Shiva Rajkumar in the titular role, stepping into the shoes of one of Telangana’s most respected leaders. This project also marks the directorial debut of Parameshwar Hivrale, who transitions from acting to filmmaking with this ambitious venture.
The movie is produced by N. Suresh Reddy (NSR) under the Pravallika Arts Creations banner, marking the production house’s first cinematic endeavor. The recently unveiled first look poster has already sparked excitement among fans and film enthusiasts. In the poster, Dr. Shiva Rajkumar is seen in a humble yet commanding avatar — wearing glasses, a simple white kurta-pajama, and a red scarf, symbolizing the values Narsaiah stood for. Beside him rests a bicycle adorned with a red flag bearing the iconic hammer and sickle, representing his ideological leanings toward leftist thought.
The accompanying concept video deepens this portrayal by depicting the leader entering the Assembly on his bicycle — not as a traditional politician surrounded by luxury, but as a grounded individual deeply connected to his roots. The image of books tied to the bicycle’s rear seat subtly highlights his intellect and lifelong pursuit of knowledge.
Director Parameshwar Hivrale’s commitment to authenticity and realistic storytelling shines through every frame. From the earthy texture of rural Telangana to the portrayal of Narsaiah’s humility, the filmmaker ensures that each scene honors his subject’s legacy. The film’s aesthetics are further elevated by Satish Mutyala’s cinematography, which vividly captures the rustic charm of the region, while Suresh Bobbili’s music adds emotional depth to the narrative. Editor Satya Giduturi ensures a tight and engaging flow, while the production design accurately brings back the socio-political atmosphere of the time.
The makers have announced that production will begin soon, with the movie set for a Pan-India release in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi. This multilingual approach aims to make Narsaiah’s inspiring story accessible to audiences across India, transcending language barriers and cultural divides.
At its core, Gummadi Narsaiah is more than just a political biopic — it’s the cinematic chronicle of a man who lived for others. His humility, determination, and lifelong service continue to inspire generations. With a powerful performance by Dr. Shiva Rajkumar and a sincere vision by debutant director Parameshwar Hivrale, this film promises to be a heartfelt tribute to a leader who truly belonged to his people.
