Ram Veerapaneni of Mango Media who recently married famous singer Sunitha has bankrolled Battala Ramaswamy Biopikku along with Krishna Kumar, which is streaming now on Zee5 digital platform.

Story

Ramaswamy (Altaf Hassan) who emulates Lord Rama want to follow him in all aspects. One word and one wife. But fortune or misfortune, he was forced to marry thrice. Three girls enter his life as wives along with the one he loved, Jayaprada (Shanti Rao), Jayasudha (Lavanya Reddy), and Siri (Satvika Jay) are the additions.

Thereafter, the life of Ramaswamy goes for a toss but he sitll manages by being a good, loyal, and ‘desirable’ husband to all the three wives. But the bickerings between them reaches the boiling point forcing Ramaswamy to make some tactical moves to come out of this tricky situation. How did he manage?

Performances

Altaf Hassan, with theatrical experience behind him fails to find a foothold on his character and the result is, he could not do proper justice to the character of Ramaswamy.

On the other hand, Shanti Rao and Lavanya Reddy are intolerable leaving Satvika to do some repair in which she did exceptionally well among all the actors.

Bhadram succeeds in evoking some laughs being the side kick of Ramaswamy but he and Satvika could not salvage the whole film however best they have tried as its beyond thier characters.

Behind the scenes

Director Ram Narayan’s choice of an outdated story that is suitable for 70s or 80s itself is a big blunder.

His effort to make it as an adult comedy misfired due to presence of loads of unwarranted double entendres resulting in a perverted comedy rather than a adult comedy.

Ram Narayan who also composed the music has mustered some honour with that one introduction song which augurs well and the remaining stuff is somewhat bearable.

Even the camera work by P S K Mani is commendable but all these positive factors fail to do add any value to the outdated story and spineless narration.

Final Verdict

Mango Media has some respectable place among production companies and Ram Veerapaneni needs to think something better than Battala Ramaswamy Biopikku in future.

Most of the people may get misguided by the innocuous looking title thinking that it is a comedy film with some good entertainment value like a Ladies Tailor or a Jamba Lakidi Pamba.

But be careful, as this is neither a comedy nor a parody, its just a torture bordering between absurdity and mediocrity.
