Warner Bros has unveiled the official trailer for director Kirill Sokolov’s upcoming horror-comedy They Will Kill You, a twisted blend of suspense, gore, and dark humor that promises to keep audiences on edge. Scheduled to hit theaters on March 27, the film stars Zazie Beetz as a hotel housekeeper whose seemingly routine assignment in a New York establishment spirals into a night of unimaginable terror.
The trailer introduces Beetz’s character as she arrives at the hotel, only to discover its sinister secret: the building serves as a temple for a satanic cult. In one of the trailer’s most haunting lines, a fellow character warns her, “Each month, we must offer a human sacrifice. Tonight, you are the offering.” That single moment sets the tone for a narrative steeped in supernatural dread, while also delivering flashes of macabre comedy.
Alongside Beetz, the film boasts a strong ensemble cast including Myha’la, Paterson Joseph, Tom Felton, Heather Graham, and Patricia Arquette. Felton and Arquette’s addition, confirmed back in August 2024, has further heightened anticipation thanks to their acclaimed work in both television and film.
The footage teases bloody confrontations and intense fight sequences, hinting at Beetz’s character’s resilience and resourcefulness. In one memorable exchange, a fellow character asks her where she learned to fight so fiercely. Her curt reply—“Prison”—suggests a layered and unconventional backstory that could add intrigue to the plot.
They Will Kill You is a collaboration between New Line Cinema and Nocturna, with Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Dan Kagan producing. Director Kirill Sokolov also serves as executive producer alongside co-writer Alex Litvak, Russell Ackerman, John Schoenfelder, and Carl Hampe.
Outside of this project, Beetz remains busy on the big screen. She recently appeared in The Dutchman, which premiered last weekend, and will next be seen in Gore Verbinski’s Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die, arriving next month.
Judging by the trailer, They Will Kill You aims to strike a careful balance between shocking horror and sly humor, creating a cinematic experience that could appeal to fans of genre mash-ups. With its cult-driven premise, chaotic hotel setting, and a lead performance from Beetz that blends vulnerability with grit, the film could become one of the most talked-about releases of early 2026.
