As we step into the autumn season at Netflix, an array of thrilling new and returning shows awaits us. Leading the charge is the concluding episode arc of Wednesday season 2, while September also unveils the highly anticipated premiere of House of Guinness, among several other notable additions.
The summer of 2025 proved to be quite fruitful for Netflix, showcasing a mix of established series like The Sandman and Wednesday, alongside fresh successes like K-pop Demon Hunters, making it a fantasy-filled season. Looking forward to September, a few notable projects are on the horizon, including Wednesday Season 2, Part 2, House of Guinness, and an animated series from a writer associated with Rick & Morty.
Let’s delve into what’s ahead, and for those wanting to see the complete September 2025 lineup, stay tuned to What’s on Netflix.
Wednesday Season 2, Part 2 (Sept. 3)
September starts with a bang! Following a successful comeback for Wednesday in August, the show returns with its final four episodes. The first part ended on a gripping cliffhanger, featuring Wednesday Addams being expelled from Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital by Tyler in his Hyde persona. Bloodied and severely hurt, Wednesday recounts: “I’ve always envisioned encountering death. Yet in my last moments, it’s my mother’s voice echoing in my thoughts. Perhaps I’ve made things far worse.”
The upcoming episodes will see the return of Gwendoline Christie’s beloved character, Principal Weems from Nevermore. How does she come back? We’ll have to wait and find out!
Beauty in Black Season 2 (Sept.11)
Tyler Perry continues his prolific collaboration with Netflix, having produced works ranging from A Fall From Grace to Straw and The Six Triple Eight. The captivating drama Beauty in Black debuted in October 2024, and in its second season, Kimmie (Taylor Polidore Williams) discovers new depths of power following her marriage to Bellarie patriarch Horace (Ricco Ross). Prepare for an escalation in drama and treachery!
Black Rabbit (Sept. 18)
Black Rabbit stands out with its lead actors: Jude Law (The Talented Mr. Ripley, Sherlock Holmes) and Jason Bateman (Ozark). This limited series plunges into New York City’s nightlife, centering around two brothers amid its chaotic atmosphere.
The storyline follows a rising restaurateur and owner of the Black Rabbit who unwittingly becomes entangled in New York’s perilous underbelly as loan sharks pursue his brother. The visuals from this new series may not capture its essence accurately, but the latest trailer offers promise for a compelling experience, aiming to be a worthy successor to Bateman’s Ozark.
Billionaires’ Bunker (Sept. 19)
Billionaires’ Bunker draws significant attention as it comes from the creative minds behind Money Heist, Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato. The trailer suggests a Spanish take on a Fallout-like scenario. As a global crisis looms, a group of billionaires must retreat to a luxurious bunker built to withstand extreme situations. However, as time wears on and tensions rise, their personalities and dark secrets begin to unravel.
This eight-episode series features a talented ensemble cast including Miren Ibarguren, Joaquín Furriel, Natalia Verbeke, Carlos Santos, Pau Simón, Alicia Falcó, and Montse Guallar.
Haunted Hotel (Sept. 25)
This September, longtime Rick & Morty scribe Matt Roller introduces viewers to Haunted Hotel, a new animated series filled with comedic chills where a peaceful night’s sleep is a distant memory. The series unfolds in a haunted hotel, where a single mother struggles to manage the chaos caused by mischievous ghosts, with help from her estranged, now-ghost brother.
Haunted Hotel features Will Forte, Eliza Coupe, Skyler Gisondo, Natalie Palamides, and Jimmi Simpson. If Roller can attract even a fraction of the Rick & Morty audience, this series is poised to be a hit.
Alice in Borderland Season 3 (Sept. 23)
In the realm of brutal, survival-based shows, while Squid Game holds the title, we cannot overlook Alice in Borderland. Based on the popular manga, the series unfolds in a deserted Tokyo where Arisu and his companions must engage in sadistic games for survival. Season 3 ventures beyond the manga’s original ending, paving a path into uncharted territory.
House of Guinness (Sept. 25)
House of Guinness comes from the renowned creator of Peaky Blinders, Steven Knight. Set in 1860s Dublin, the show chronicles the powerful Guinness family and their efforts to build and maintain a prestigious brewery. How will they ensure the survival and global success of the Guinness brand?
The series features a stellar cast, including Anthony Boyle portraying the iconic Arthur Guinness, with Louis Partridge (Edward), Emily Fairn (Anne), and Fionn O’Shea (Ben).
Wayward (Sept. 25)
Created, starred in, and helmed by comedian Mae Martin (Feel Good), Wayward promises to blend eerie elements with humor in this eight-part limited series. Set in the quaint town of Tall Pines, it follows two teens escaping from a facility for troubled youth, who join forces with a police officer to uncover the town’s dark secrets.
Alongside Martin, the cast includes Sarah Gadon, Sydney Topliffe, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Brandon Jay McLaren, and Toni Collette.
Interview with the Vampire Season 2 (Sept. 30)
Originally set to be removed from Netflix US in August 2025, several AMC titles including Interview with the Vampire were instead renewed, and its second season will drop at the end of this month.
Based on Anne Rice’s renowned novels, this series has garnered a passionate online following, particularly thanks to its LGBTQ+ representation. Season 2 begins with Louis and Claudia traveling to Europe in the aftermath of World War II, seeking out other vampires.
Karen Kingsbury’s A Thousand Tomorrows (Season 1) (Sept. 1)
This year has noted a trend of original programming from various networks making their way to Netflix, with the first Prime Video Original landing on Netflix US. In September, a new addition is PureFlix’s A Thousand Tomorrows, based on the novels by Karen Kingsbury.
This series tells the story of a reserved bull rider and an aspiring barrel racer who fall in love, fully aware that they must cherish their limited time together. If you’re looking forward to Ransom Canyon season 2 or Netflix’s feel-good content, this series will certainly fulfill that need.
