Marvel Studios has unveiled the second official teaser for its highly anticipated epic, Avengers: Doomsday. Building further excitement for the blockbuster sequel, the latest preview shifts the spotlight to Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, showcasing the God of Thunder in a more grounded and determined state than audiences have seen in recent years.
The film picks up in the wake of the first teaser, which confirmed the return of Steve Rogers to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now, the new footage reintroduces Thor, who was one of the first cast members revealed during production. This iteration of Thor is markedly different from his portrayal in Thor: Love and Thunder. Gone is the lighthearted tone — in its place is a somber, battle-ready hero, seen traversing a quiet forest while offering a prayer to his father, Odin, as the looming threat of multiversal chaos approaches Earth-616.
Fans will notice Thor sporting a look reminiscent of his Avengers: Infinity War appearance, complete with shorter hair and a hardened demeanor. The teaser also features his adoptive daughter, Love, portrayed by Hemsworth’s real-life daughter, India Rose Hemsworth. Together, they appear poised to confront Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom — a villain whose actions could spell the end of their world.
Avengers: Doomsday promises a monumental ensemble cast, pulling together beloved heroes from across the Marvel multiverse. Alongside Hemsworth, the lineup includes Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, Tenoch Huerta Mejía as Namor, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Lewis Pullman as Sentry, Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, and Tom Hiddleston as Loki.
In addition, several iconic actors from Fox’s X-Men series will reprise their roles, including Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Patrick Stewart as Professor Xavier, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, and James Marsden as Cyclops.
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, with a screenplay by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely, Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit U.S. theaters on December 18, 2026, as part of Marvel’s Phase Six. A direct sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, is slated for release on December 17, 2027.
With Thor stepping back into the fray in his most formidable form yet, fans can expect a high-stakes battle that will redefine the MCU’s future.
