Horror enthusiasts have a new reason to keep the lights on this spring. AMC has officially unveiled the first trailer for The Terror: Devil in Silver, the highly anticipated third installment of its critically acclaimed supernatural anthology series. Following the frozen desolate landscape of the first season and the haunting internment camps of Infamy, this new chapter moves the terror behind the locked doors of a modern-day mental institution.
Based on the celebrated 2012 novel by Victor LaValle, this season promises to blend psychological trauma with the visceral, high-stakes horror that has become the franchise’s trademark.
A New Chapter in Psychological Horror
The story centers on Pepper, portrayed by the versatile Dan Stevens (Legion, Abigail). Pepper is a working-class moving man who finds his life spiraling out of control due to a volatile combination of rotten luck and a short fuse. Following a violent confrontation with the law, Pepper is wrongfully committed to New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital—a grim institution designed for the people society would rather ignore.
However, New Hyde is far from a place of healing. As Pepper struggles to maintain his sanity, he realizes he is trapped in a literal hellscape. He must navigate a treacherous social hierarchy of patients with malicious intent and a medical staff harboring bone-chilling secrets.
The Devil Is in the Details
The trailer teases a supernatural presence lurking within the hospital’s crumbling infrastructure. Pepper soon discovers that he isn’t just fighting for his freedom; he is fighting for his soul. There is a dark entity harbored within the facility—something the inmates whisper is the Devil himself.
As the line between reality and delusion blurs, Pepper finds that the only way to escape New Hyde is to confront the ancient evil thriving on the collective suffering of the patients. In doing so, he is forced to face a terrifying truth: the most dangerous demons might be the ones he carried inside him all along.
An Ensemble Cast of Icons
Beyond Stevens, The Terror: Devil in Silver boasts an impressive ensemble cast that brings significant prestige to the production. Horror and drama veterans including Judith Light, CCH Pounder, and Stephen Root lend their talents to the eerie atmosphere. The cast is rounded out by an array of powerhouse performers:
- Aasif Mandvi
- John Benjamin Hickey

- Marin Ireland
- Chinaza Uche

When Does The Terror: Devil in Silver Premiere?
With Victor LaValle serving as an executive producer alongside showrunner Chris Cantwell, fans can expect a faithful yet expanded adaptation of the source material. The series looks to maintain the slow-burn, atmospheric dread that made the original The Terror a breakout hit.
