The alien named Harry has returned to Patience, but this time he confronts a lethal imposter and emerging alien threats. The fourth season of Resident Alien promises an increase in mysterious events, dramatic tensions, and the series’ signature awkward humor.
Following months of anticipation and fervent fan speculation, Resident Alien is at last airing its fourth season, which is set to be stranger, more intense, and hilariously comedic. For those who have been tracking the journey of the alien posing as doctor Harry Vanderspeigle and his eccentric escapades in the little Colorado community of Patience, prepare for a wild ride.
The fourth installment premieres on Friday, June 6, 2025, scheduled for 11 PM ET/PT broadcasts on both Syfy and USA Network, with new episodes becoming available on Peacock one week afterwards. Audiences in India will be able to stream the fourth season of Resident Alien via JioHotstar beginning June 7.
The conclusion of Season 3 left audiences with several unresolved storylines. Harry, portrayed by Alan Tudyk with wonderfully awkward charm, was grappling with understanding his purpose on Earth. While he had mercifully abandoned his initial directive to eliminate humanity, this did not guarantee the safety of Earth. By the time the finale aired, the plot had become significantly more extraterrestrial.
Viewers were introduced to Bridget, Harry’s half-alien offspring, and witnessed their joint abduction by the Greys, who transported them to their base on the Moon. Concurrently, back on Earth, the situation was starting to deteriorate. A dangerous new alien species, identified as the Mantids, revealed themselves, with one member having assumed the form of a Harry look-alike.
Indeed, Patience was now host to two individuals appearing as Harry, and the fraudulent one was freely moving about, impersonating him. Asta (Sara Tomko), Harry’s nearest human confidante, experienced considerable emotional turmoil. The complexities of her relationship with her father, Dan, along with her personal quest for identity, significantly affected her. D’Arcy, still recuperating from both physical and emotional injuries, found herself entangled in feelings of regret and vulnerability.
Meanwhile, Sheriff Mike and Deputy Liv maintained their roles as the town’s unexpectedly effective, understated law enforcement duo, even as increasingly bizarre events unfolded nearby.
Resident Alien Season 4 immediately dives into the action. It commences precisely where the third season left off, with Harry and Bridget held captive on the Greys’ lunar headquarters. There, they are subjected to study and interrogation, ultimately being compelled to confront the greater extraterrestrial menace threatening Earth. Harry, naturally, figures out a way to escape, demonstrating his inherent shrewdness, but Earth has transformed during the period he was gone.
Returning to Patience, the Mantid impersonating Harry has been creating widespread disruption. This novel adversary is more intelligent, more dangerous, and completely lacks the clumsy humanistic traits that characterize Harry. Upon the real Harry’s return, he faces a seemingly insurmountable challenge: persuading the townspeople that he is the genuine alien physician and preventing the Mantid from carrying out irreparable harm.
Nevertheless, at the core of this season remains Harry’s continued development. He is no longer the alien assassin he initially arrived as. He has become someone, or rather, something, that possesses empathy. This capacity for empathy will face unprecedented trials.
Alan Tudyk continues to be the show’s central figure and emotional core, supported by Sara Tomko as Asta, who provides emotional grounding. Other returning cast members feature Alice Wetterlund portraying the resilient D’Arcy, Corey Reynolds as Sheriff Mike, Elizabeth Bowen as the persistently inquisitive Deputy Liv, Levi Fiehler in the role of Mayor Ben, and Judah Prehn playing the consistently doubtful Max. Stephen Root, recognized for his work in Barry and Office Space, is joining the ensemble this season to play Harry’s extraterrestrial “father”.
