Rasha Thadani, daughter of Bollywood veteran Raveena Tandon, is reportedly making waves in the industry with another big opportunity coming her way. After debuting in Azaad alongside Aaman Devgan, she is now being considered to replace Sreeleela in the much-anticipated sequel, Pati Patni Aur Woh 2, starring Kartik Aaryan and Bhumi Pednekar.
Rasha’s debut film Azaad might have underperformed at the box office, but her acting received positive reviews. The film, also featuring Ajay Devgn, Diana Penty, Mohit Malik, Dylan Jones, Jiya Amin, and Piyush Mishra, released in January and is currently streaming on Netflix. The buzz surrounding her performance has reportedly led to offers for new projects.
According to reports, Rasha has been considered for Pati Patni Aur Woh 2, a sequel to the 2019 box office hit directed by Mudassar Aziz. The original film starred Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, and Ananya Panday, along with Rajpal Yadav, Aparshakti Khurana, and Kriti Sanon in key roles. The movie collected over ₹100 crore at the box office, which made expectations high for its sequel.
Initially, Sreeleela was approached for a pivotal role in the sequel. However, sources suggest the makers are now contemplating replacing her with Rasha. A source revealed, “Sreeleela and Kartik are already working together in Anurag’s film. The team of Pati Patni Aur Woh 2 feels a new jodi will attract attention. The final decision rests with Mudassar. He will take a call after conducting look tests.”
Despite strong speculation, there is no official confirmation regarding Rasha replacing Sreeleela yet.
Currently, both Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela are busy shooting for Anurag Basu’s romantic film in Siliguri, West Bengal. The promo of that untitled film was released last month, adding to the already packed schedules of the actors involved.
While Rasha’s acting debut didn’t perform commercially, it seems the industry has taken note of her potential. If confirmed, Pati Patni Aur Woh 2 could be a turning point in her career and mark her formal entry into mainstream Bollywood cinema alongside big names like Kartik Aaryan and Bhumi Pednekar.
As fans await official announcements, the casting shuffle has sparked widespread speculation, adding intrigue to the sequel of one of Bollywood’s recent commercial hits.
