Netflix turned the halftime break of the Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings Christmas Day clash into a glittering holiday spectacle, with an all-star lineup featuring Snoop Dogg, Lainey Wilson, Huntr/x, and Andrea Bocelli. Broadcasting live from Minneapolis’ U.S. Bank Stadium, the event blended festive classics with unforgettable hit tracks, creating a unique fusion of sport and seasonal celebration.

The special segment, titled “Snoop’s Holiday Halftime Party,” opened with Martha Stewart delivering a playful reimagining of Twas the Night Before Christmas, peppered with Snoop-inspired humor. As her introduction wrapped, Snoop stepped into view wearing a striking fire-red double-breasted suit with a matching long coat trimmed in plush red fabric.

The rap icon launched into a dynamic mashup of his signature songs, starting with “The One and Only” before seamlessly sliding into a jazz-infused version of “My Favorite Things” and then his timeless “Nuthin’ But a ‘G’ Thang.” His performance was backed by a compact orchestra on the field, dancers dressed like candy canes, and a booming marching band that filled the stadium with energy.

While some viewers commented online about less-than-perfect audio during the broadcast, the challenge of maintaining robust sound during a mobile, high-energy live performance was evident — especially as Snoop moved across the stage and gridiron throughout his set.

Huntr/x, best known for their work in Netflix’s hit film Kpop Demon Hunters, joined Snoop for a lively pop rendition of The 12 Days of Christmas. Shortly after, country superstar Lainey Wilson arrived on stage in a gleaming white sleigh, delivering an upbeat performance of Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.

The show’s finale brought a touch of classical magic as legendary Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli and his son Matteo performed a heartfelt duet of White Christmas. In true holiday special fashion, the entire ensemble — Snoop, Wilson, Huntr/x, and the Bocellis — came together for a warm, communal closing moment.

This marks the second consecutive year Netflix has paired its Christmas Day NFL coverage with a high-profile halftime concert. Last year saw Beyoncé headline the inaugural “Christmas GameDay” spectacle. For 2024, Snoop Dogg and his talented collaborators, including rising artist Tonio Armani, delivered a contemporary twist on the feel-good holiday music tradition. The segment ended with a charming image of Snoop surrounded by his children and grandchildren, all dressed in cozy holiday pajamas — a picture-perfect finale for viewers at home.

Earlier on Christmas Day, Netflix aired the Dallas Cowboys’ 30-23 victory over the Washington Commanders, setting the stage for the evening’s show-stopping Lions-Vikings broadcast.
