Prime Video is turning up the suspense with the highly anticipated release of 56 Days, an edge-of-your-seat thriller series adapted from Catherine Ryan Howard’s internationally acclaimed novel. The streaming giant revealed first-look images along with the official premiere date, setting the stage for one of 2026’s most buzzworthy television events.
The eight-part series will launch globally on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, reaching audiences in over 240 countries and territories. Produced in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios and horror powerhouse Atomic Monster, 56 Days promises a gripping blend of romance, mystery, and psychological intensity.
Plot Overview
The storyline follows Oliver Kennedy and Ciara Wyse, two strangers whose chance encounter in a supermarket sparks an intense relationship. Their whirlwind romance quickly escalates — but 56 days later, police arrive at Oliver’s apartment to find a gruesomely murdered body deliberately left to decompose. As investigators dig deeper, questions pile up: Did Oliver kill Ciara? Could Ciara have killed Oliver?
The series unfolds in a dual timeline, interweaving the tense present-day investigation with flashbacks to the couple’s darkly passionate affair. The result is a taut crime drama layered with psychological complexity and emotional heat.
Cast & Creative Team
Dove Cameron leads as Ciara Wyse, bringing her signature mix of charm and intensity. Avan Jogia stars opposite her as Oliver Kennedy, with Karla Souza portraying detective Lee Reardon and Dorian Missick as investigator Karl Connolly.
The series is crafted by writers and executive producers Lisa Zwerling and Karyn Usher, alongside genre maestro James Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett of Atomic Monster. Catherine Ryan Howard, author of the source novel, joins as co-executive producer, ensuring fidelity to the book’s unsettling vision. Danielle Bozzone oversees production on behalf of Atomic Monster.
On-Screen Chemistry
Cameron and Jogia’s casting has already ignited fan discussion, in part due to their real-life relationship. The pair confirmed their romance in late 2023 after months of speculation, making waves with their stylish public appearances and creative synergy. Cameron, a former Disney star turned pop sensation, is celebrated for her authenticity, while Jogia brings depth from his work in Victorious, Now Apocalypse, and his band Twin Shadow.
Together, they embody 56 Days’ intoxicating mix of passion and danger — a modern on-screen duo set to leave viewers hooked.
