The highly anticipated trailer for Nobody 2 has finally been released. Universal Pictures made it available online and announced that ticket sales have commenced. Collider unveiled an exclusive 4DX poster, but it’s the trailer that has everyone buzzing. The film is set to premiere in theaters all over North America on August 15, 2025.
Bob Odenkirk returns as Hutch Mansell, an ordinary man with a secret life as a lethal assassin. Fans often refer to him as “your dad’s favorite John Wick knockoff,” and he’s ready to show why. In Nobody 2, Hutch is back with even more action, fights, and complications.
This sequel is set four years after the first film, with Hutch still burdened by a $30 million debt to the Russian mob, forcing him to take on hit jobs to settle his obligations. However, life isn’t solely about brawls and cash—it’s clear that Hutch’s marriage to Becca, once again portrayed by Connie Nielsen, is facing significant issues.
In an effort to mend their relationship, the family decides to vacation at Wild Bill’s Majestic Midway and Waterpark, a place Hutch frequented with his brother Harry, played again by RZA. Naturally, things take a turn for the worse during the trip.
After encountering some local bullies, Hutch’s family finds themselves in peril, pursued by a corrupt theme park owner and a dubious sheriff. This leads Hutch to confront one of the most unpredictable and dangerous adversaries he’s ever faced. Timo Tjahjanto, known for his over-the-top action films, makes his English-language directorial debut with this project. The screenplay was crafted by Umair Aleem, Aaron Rabin, and Bob Odenkirk.
In addition to Odenkirk, Nielsen, and RZA, fans will see the return of Christopher Lloyd as Hutch’s father, David Mansell, and Michael Ironside as Eddie Williams, Hutch’s employer. Other familiar faces include Colin Salmon, Billy MacLellan, Gage Munroe, and Paisley Cadorath. Joining the cast are Colin Hanks, John Ortiz, and Sharon Stone, who portrays a bootlegging mastermind. Ortiz plays a dishonest theme park operator, while Hanks takes on the role of the corrupt sheriff collaborating with him.
The concept for the sequel originated in March 2021, when Connie Nielsen expressed her desire to delve deeper into Becca and Hutch’s narrative, mentioning that they had discussed how they first met during the production of the original film. A few months later, Derek Kolstad, the original film’s creator, began developing a script. However, it wasn’t until late 2022 that producer Kelly McCormick confirmed the sequel was on track to move forward.
Filming commenced in Winnipeg on August 6, 2024, and concluded in late September. During this period, Sharon Stone, Colin Hanks, and John Ortiz joined the ensemble. Director Tjahjanto also shared on social media that RZA would reprise his role as Harry Mansell.
With the trailer available and tickets now on sale, fans are almost ready to enjoy the film. According to Universal Pictures, Nobody 2 is set to hit theaters on August 15, 2025.
