Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for its upcoming reimagining of Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials, promising a stylish, suspense-filled journey into 1920s London. This modern adaptation breathes new life into Christie’s classic whodunit, introducing Lady Eileen “Bundle” Brent — portrayed by Mia McKenna-Bruce — as a daring young woman determined to uncover the truth behind a shocking murder.
The trailer opens with an air of glamour and excitement at a grand London party, where Gerry Wade (Corey Mylchreest) hints that he intends to propose to Bundle. But the festive atmosphere takes a grim turn the next morning when Gerry is found dead in his bed, surrounded by seven ringing alarm clocks. From that moment, Bundle’s resolve hardens — she vows to find out what really happened to her friend, setting the stage for a gripping investigation filled with secrets, danger, and deception.
As the narrative unfolds, Bundle faces a maze of social expectations and perilous discoveries. Supported — and occasionally warned — by her close companions Ronnie Devereux (Nabhaan Rizwan) and Jimmy Thesiger (Edward Bluemel), she refuses to back down, even when the risks mount. Their camaraderie brings warmth to the dark mystery, adding emotional depth to the high-stakes investigation.
McKenna-Bruce describes her character as “a relentless go-getter,” noting that Bundle’s determination defines her. “If someone tells her she can’t do something, she’ll find another way,” the actress explains. “Especially for a woman in 1925, the odds are stacked against her, but she never lets that stop her.”
The trailer also introduces Martin Freeman as Superintendent Battle, a seasoned investigator who warns Bundle of the peril tied to the mysterious Seven Dials. His cautionary line — “This is treacherous with a high degree of peril” — hints at the layers of intrigue awaiting viewers. Despite his warnings, Bundle’s courage and curiosity drive her deeper into the heart of the conspiracy, her voice unwavering as she declares her intent to uncover the truth no matter the cost.
Speaking about the adaptation, McKenna-Bruce emphasizes its balance between honoring Christie’s legacy and embracing a modern sensibility. “We wanted Seven Dials to feel authentic to Christie’s storytelling but also fresh and accessible for today’s audience,” she says. “I think we’ve truly achieved that.”
With its blend of period elegance, sharp dialogue, and psychological tension, Seven Dials looks set to captivate both longtime Christie enthusiasts and newcomers alike. The series premieres globally on Netflix on January 15, inviting viewers into a world where secrets tick just as loudly as those seven clocks.
