Netflix, a global streaming giant, and Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms, a prominent name in Indian entertainment, have entered into a long-term creative partnership to develop a range of new projects across various storytelling formats. This collaboration aims to expand the reach of scripted content across different genres and formats.

Balaji Telefilms, led by Ekta Kapoor, has built a successful career in film, television, and streaming. The new partnership with Netflix and Balaji Telefilms seeks to broaden the horizons of storytelling, offering a diverse range of content to the audience.

Balaji and Netflix have previously collaborated on several popular titles, such as Kathal, Pagglait, Jaane Jaan, and Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare. These collaborations have been successful in capturing the hearts of the audience and showcasing the potential of the partnership.

Monika Shergill, vice-president of content at Netflix India, expressed her excitement about the collaboration, stating that Ekta Kapoor’s creative instinct and understanding of the audience’s pulse have set her apart in shaping what India chooses to watch and love for more than two decades. She further added that this collaboration would bring unique stories in a culturally rooted way, marking an exciting new chapter in Netflix’s creative journey.

Ekta Kapoor, joint managing director of Balaji Telefilms, shared her enthusiasm for the partnership, stating that storytelling has always been at the heart of everything Balaji does, whether through cinema, television, or digital platforms. She further added that partnering with Netflix, the world’s leading storytelling platform, would allow Balaji to bring powerful, culturally rooted, and emotionally resonant stories to a global audience.

The collaboration includes an upcoming untitled series currently in advanced development and aims to deliver content designed specifically for streaming audiences. Balaji Telefilms, including its divisions Balaji Motion Pictures and Balaji Telefilms Digital, will undertake this collaboration. This partnership is expected to bring unique and diverse stories to the audience, pushing creative boundaries and delivering content that entertains, inspires, and connects people everywhere.
