Jennifer Lopez in Netflix new sci-fi thriller ‘Atlas’

Jennifer Lopez in Netflix new sci-fi thriller 'Atlas'

Jennifer Lopez is all set to essay the role of Atlas, a woman fighting for humanity in future where she confronts an AI soldier who is all out to destroy the humanity as the only recourse to end the war. Jennifer need to work with another AI which she fears the most to outsmart and outplay the rogue AI is what broad storyline of Atlas is about.

Brad Peyton of Rampage fame is directing Atlas and Aron Eli Coleite is preparing the final draft script for the original script of Leo Sardarian. “Having the chance to direct Jennifer in the title role of this movie is a dream come true, as I know she’ll bring the incredible strength, depth and authenticity we’ve all come to admire from her work.‘ director Peyton shared his happiness about the collaboration with Jennifer.

The film is a part of the creative partnership between Nuyorican Productions of Lopez and Netflix where Lopez along with the producing partner Goldsmith-Thomas and longtime business associate Benny Medina will make a series of films, television offerings, both scripted and unscripted content with special emphasis on projects that support diverse female actors, writers, and filmmakers.

Meanwhile, the first two of the forthcoming projects under this joint venture starring Lopez playing the role of a deadly female assassin in The Mother, directed by Niki Carpo of Mulan fame and The Cipher, the story of an FBI agent hunted by serial killer based on the novel by Isabella Maldonado have already been announced and about to start production work later this year.

Furthermore, Lopez will be seen next in the rom-com Marry Me by Universal Pictures with Owen Wilson and Sarah Silverman along with the Lionsgate action comedy flick Shotgun Wedding and both the films are slated for release in 2022.
