Watch this for Hina Khan

After a successful first season, Hungama Play released Damaged Season 2; a psychological thriller which is streaming now on MXPlayer as well as on Hungama Play.
Story
A chain of events take place in a homestay, tucked in a remote area surrounded by  jungle on one side and a picturesque lake on the other side, run by Gauri Batra (Hina Khan) and Akash Batra (Adhyayan Suman). A couple Poorva (Aakanksha Kadre) and Manav (Sapan Gulati), along with their 6 year old kid Kittu, checks in at this very homestay. On the first day, they witness some strange incidents thereby spoiling their holiday. There are some other characters, like the mentally challenged Sattu and his sister Hemlata, who play an important role in giving the story a more mysterious look.
Performances
Hina Khan as Gauri exhibits different shades in her character admirably. Her first foray into digital space will be remembered for a long time for her performance. Adhyayan as Akash also does well in a complex character who suffers from a speech disorder. The presence of Rahul Singh as inspector Deshraj Duggal is a surprise element and adds more punch to the thriller with an impeccable performance.
Positives
Background score and photography are the heart and soul of any psychological thriller. Here also the background score by Shubhankar and photography by Abhishek Modok are extraordinary and play a significant role in adding an extra thrill to the narration. Screenplay by Shreyas Lowlekar and direction by Ekant Babani are impressive but not engaging enough compared to the first season.
Negatives
Police being unaware of crimes happening under their nose is something unpalatable. The writer and director are to be blamed for this goof up. The pre climax episode where culprit spills the beans should have been made more exciting with some more twists instead of concluding it in a simple insipid manner.
Worth it?
Not as intense as Breathe or horrific as Ghoul, but worth a try for Hina Khan and for that last punch which is quite baffling. Next season??
