Netflix is bringing a heartfelt twist to the romantic comedy genre this January with the release of Can This Love Be Translated?, a Korean drama that promises to explore love and understanding beyond the limits of language. Scheduled to premiere on January 16, the series stars Kim Seon-ho and Go Youn-jung in a story that blends global travel, emotional vulnerability, and the challenges of true communication.

At the core of Can This Love Be Translated? is the intriguing pairing of Joo Ho-jin, a highly skilled multilingual interpreter, and Cha Mu-hee, a celebrated international actress. Ho-jin, portrayed by Kim Seon-ho, has mastered the art of navigating complex languages but struggles when it comes to expressing his own feelings. Mu-hee, played by Go Youn-jung, is confident on stage yet finds it difficult to put her deepest emotions into words. Their journey unfolds against the backdrop of a television program that forces them to collaborate — not only bridging linguistic divides but also learning to understand each other’s hearts.

Netflix’s recently released trailer offers a glimpse into the emotional tapestry awaiting viewers. Subtle glances, hesitant pauses, and moments of quiet care reveal the central theme — that true connection is not always found in literal translation, but in capturing the intent and emotion behind words. The series asks a provocative question: if the language of love exists, can it truly be translated?

The creative team behind the drama adds to the anticipation. The Hong sisters, renowned for hit series like Alchemy of Souls and Hotel Del Luna, join forces with director Yoo Young-eun, known for his work on Bloody Heart. Together, they aim to deliver a narrative rich in cultural nuance, emotional depth, and a fresh take on modern romance.

Filmed across multiple locations and cultures, Can This Love Be Translated? is more than a romcom — it’s a reflection on how human connection can surpass borders, both geographical and linguistic. With its blend of humor, heartfelt drama, and international appeal, the series is poised to resonate with audiences worldwide.

Whether you’re a fan of Korean dramas, a romantic at heart, or simply intrigued by stories that explore communication and understanding, this new Netflix release is one to mark on your calendar. Can This Love Be Translated? premieres globally on January 16, offering a reminder that sometimes, love speaks its own universal language.
