A Night of Celebration in the Editing Community
The American Cinema Editors presented the prestigious ACE Eddie Awards, recognizing outstanding editing in film and television. The annual event took place at UCLA’s Royce Hall, where Sinners and One Battle After Another were honored as the best-edited drama and comedy films for 2025.
Leading the Pack: Sinners and One Battle After Another
Both films not only earned accolades at the ACE Eddies but are also contenders for the Oscar in the Best Film Editing category. Alongside them in the race for the Oscar are titles like F1, Marty Supreme, and Sentimental Value. Historical data shows that approximately two-thirds of ACE winners in the feature-film category have gone on to win the Oscar for Best Film Editing, with 15 winners from the drama segment and only two from comedy—Chicago and Everything Everywhere All at Once.
Additional Highlights from the ACE Eddies
In the animated feature category, KPop Demon Hunters triumphed, while The Perfect Neighbor was recognized for excellence in documentary editing. The television sector also shone brightly, with awards going to Frasier and The Studio for comedy series, and The Pitt for drama series. The limited series category saw The Penguin earning a nod, and Pee-wee as Himself was celebrated for its documentary series editing.
