Kaalidhar Laapata is helmed by director Madhumita, who is recognized for her notable works, including the Tamil Nadu State Film Award-winning film Vallamai Tharayo, as well as K.D. and the segment Mouname Paarvayaai from the anthology Putham Pudhu Kaalai Vidiyaadhaa.
Featuring Zeeshan Ayyub and Daivik Bhagela, the film’s official logline presents a road trip narrative set in rural India. It follows Kaalidhar (Bachchan), an elderly man who decides to run away after learning that his family intends to abandon him. His journey takes an unexpected twist when he encounters Ballu, a spirited eight-year-old orphan whose zest for life rekindles Kaalidhar’s desire to live fully, as outlined in the film’s logline, produced by Zee Studios and Emmay Entertainment.
In a formal statement, Kaveri Das, ZEE5 Hindi Business Head, expressed, “At ZEE5, we value storytelling that not only entertains but profoundly resonates with viewers. Kaalidhar Laapata is a remarkable film—a touching, feel-good story that stays with you long after its conclusion.
