Netflix has officially announced the release date for Firebreak, the latest cinematic creation from acclaimed filmmaker David Victori (Sky Rojo, Cross the Line). Set to premiere worldwide on February 20, this psychological thriller promises a tense and emotionally charged journey where survival collides with moral dilemmas.

A Cast That Brings the Drama to Life
Leading the ensemble is BelĂ©n Cuesta (The Endless Trench, Money Heist), joined by Enric Auquer (A House on Fire, Sky Rojo), JoaquĂn Furriel (Billionaires’ Bunker), and Diana GĂłmez (Valeria, Money Heist). Their performances navigate the film’s intense emotional terrain, supported by Candela MartĂnez and Mika Arias in pivotal roles.
The film’s atmosphere is charged with urgency — a race against time layered with the grief of personal loss, creating a powerful backdrop for the story’s escalating tension.
The Story — When Farewell Turns to Survival
Firebreak follows Mara (BelĂ©n Cuesta), a woman grappling with the recent death of her husband. Hoping to find closure, she travels with her daughter Lide (Candela MartĂnez), her brother‑in‑law Luis (JoaquĂn Furriel), his wife Elena (Diana GĂłmez), and their son (Mika Arias) to the family’s forest‑side summer home.
The trip takes a dark turn when Lide disappears after a heated argument. As the family desperately searches for her, an uncontrollable wildfire erupts nearby. Authorities halt the search and order an immediate evacuation — but Mara refuses to leave without her child.
In a desperate act of defiance, the family pushes deeper into the forest, cut off from help and with the flames closing in. Their only hope becomes Santi (Enric Auquer), a local forest ranger. Yet as danger mounts, Mara begins to suspect that the fire is not the only threat — someone among them may be hiding the truth.
