The K-pop boy band BTS released their first live album, titled Permission to Dance On Stage — Live, on Friday, featuring 22 tracks from their world tour. This marks their highly anticipated return to the music industry as a group after a three-year hiatus.
The album includes live recordings of some of BTS’s most iconic performances, showcasing hits like “Dynamite” and “Butter,” which were performed during the 2021-2022 Permission to Dance On Stage tour.
In addition, performances such as “Life Goes On,” “Boy With Luv” (featuring Halsey), and “ON” are also included in the album’s tracklist. The album is accompanied by a 141-minute concert video of BTS members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook performing at Olympic Stadium in Seoul on March 13, 2022.
A physical copy of the album will also come with a 92-page photobook filled with interviews and behind-the-scenes memories from the concert.
As stated on BTS’s official website, “This remarkable release encapsulates the vibrant energy of the BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE tour, which took place in Seoul, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas in 2021. Spanning 12 unforgettable performances that echoed through stadiums worldwide, the album provides an immersive reflection of BTS’s electrifying global stage presence.”
Suga was the final member of BTS to transition back to civilian life on June 21 after completing a 21-month public service duty.
On June 10, RM and V concluded their 18-month mandatory military service. Jungkook and Jimin followed suit, returning to civilian life just one day later. Together, they reunited with Jin and J-Hope, who had resumed civilian life the previous year after their military discharge.
During their first Weverse live session post-discharge, RM, the band’s leader, revealed that BTS plans to release a new album in the spring of 2026. They will also embark on a world tour following the album’s release.
This upcoming tour will mark their return to the stage four years after their last concert, Yet to Come, which took place in Busan, South Korea, in 2022. Most members are currently in Los Angeles working on upcoming projects.
The last studio album BTS released was Proof in 2022.
