Additionally, Beyoncé claimed her first AMA wins in the country categories, taking home the awards for Favourite Female Country Artist and Favourite Country Album for “Cowboy Carter.”
Kendrick Lamar received an award for Favourite Hip-Hop Song for “Not Like Us.” The awards ceremony kicked off with host Jennifer Lopez performing an energetic six-minute medley of 23 songs from the nominees, featuring tracks like Billie’s “Birds of a Feather,” Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso,” and Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ’Em.”
Janet Jackson received the prestigious Icon award, celebrating artists who have made a significant global impact. Eighty-year-old Rod Stewart was honored with a lifetime achievement accolade and performed his classic hit “Forever Young,” which debuted in 1984.
