Netflix has officially unveiled the first trailer for its upcoming psychological thriller, His & Hers — a tangled murder mystery designed to keep viewers on the edge of their seats. Set to premiere worldwide on January 8, 2026, the six-episode limited series boasts a stellar lineup, including Tessa Thompson (Westworld, Passing) and Jon Bernthal (The Bear, The Punisher).
Adapted from Alice Feeney’s acclaimed novel, which has been praised for its relentless twists and “keep you guessing” narrative, the story unfolds in the small town of Dahlonega, Georgia. Thompson takes on the role of Anna Andrews, a seasoned field reporter returning to her hometown after a brutal murder rocks the community. The victim is discovered deep in the local woods, and the investigation immediately turns personal.
Opposite her is Bernthal as Detective Jack Harper, who leads the case while quietly battling his own demons. As the trailer reveals, Anna and Jack are not just connected professionally — they are estranged spouses whose mistrust toward each other runs deep. Each suspects the other could be hiding something, making the truth harder to uncover.
“It’s always two sides to a story,” Anna’s voiceover warns in the trailer. “His and hers. Someone’s lying.” That ominous tone sets the stage for a riveting cat-and-mouse game laced with betrayal, buried secrets, and dangerous attraction.
Directed by William Oldroyd, best known for Lady Macbeth (which launched Florence Pugh into stardom), the series promises sharp storytelling and atmospheric tension. The supporting cast includes Pablo Schreiber as Anna’s cameraman Richard, Crystal Fox as Anna’s mother Alice, Sunita Mani as Jack’s dedicated police partner Priya, and Rebecca Rittenhouse as ambitious news anchor Lexy Jones. Additional appearances by Marin Ireland, Poppy Liu, and Chris Bauer round out the ensemble.
The production is helmed by showrunner Dee Jones (Nashville) with Thompson also serving as executive producer. Speaking about the project in October, Thompson shared that she was “immediately drawn in” after hearing Oldroyd’s vision for Feeney’s novel and visiting the filming location in Georgia.
Fans of slow-burn mysteries, relationship dramas, and richly layered crime stories will find His & Hers a promising addition to Netflix’s 2026 slate. With its seductive tone, complex characters, and unpredictable plot turns, it looks set to become one of the platform’s must-watch thrillers.
Mark your calendars — the truth unfolds January 8, 2026 only on Netflix.
