Fans of high-stakes military thrillers can mark their calendars: The Terminal List Season 2 is locked in for a 2026 release on Prime Video, according to star and executive producer Chris Pratt. Following the explosive success of the first season, the Amazon Prime series is ramping up for an even more action-driven, emotionally charged continuation rooted in Jack Carr’s best-selling novel True Believer — the second installment in the James Reece saga.

Since its gripping debut in 2022, The Terminal List has captivated global audiences with its relentless pace, intricate conspiracy plotlines, and Chris Pratt’s transformative performance as Navy SEAL James Reece. After surviving a devastating ambush that wiped out his entire platoon, Reece uncovers a vast conspiracy that pushes him to the edge — both as a soldier and a man seeking justice.

The series was officially renewed in February 2023, with Pratt expressing his enthusiasm: “I’m beyond excited to return as James Reece. This next chapter is darker, more intense, and takes the stakes to a whole new level. Fans won’t be disappointed.”

Jennifer Salke, Head of Amazon MGM Studios, echoed the sentiment, praising the creative team and teeing up expansion in the Terminal List universe — including the recently launched prequel series, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, starring Taylor Kitsch as CIA operative Ben Edwards. “The success of The Terminal List proves the power of bold, original storytelling. With the second season and Dark Wolf, we’re deepening the narrative world and giving fans more of what they love.”

Production for Season 2 kicked off in Spring 2025 and wrapped in October 2025 after filming across multiple continents — from Toronto to South Africa and Morocco. A behind-the-scenes Instagram post from the official account celebrated the milestone: “That’s a wrap on The Terminal List Season 2! We’ve brought True Believer to life — and it’s going to be worth the wait.”

As of January 2026, Pratt confirmed during an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast that post-production is in full swing. “Six of the eight episodes are locked. We’re in the final stretch,” he revealed to host Josh Horowitz, confirming a late 2026 premiere.

Pratt returns as James Reece, with Gabriel Luna (The Last of Us) joining in a recurring role as Freddy Strain — a former SEAL Team 6 Senior Chief and current CIA Ground Branch officer. Described as a man split between duty and family, Freddy becomes a key figure in pulling Reece out of exile, setting the stage for a redemption arc layered with moral complexity.

In a surprising casting reveal, Pratt teased Luke Hemsworth on Instagram with a playful post showing bloodied feet labeled “Luke” and a smiley face. Hemsworth, known for Westworld, will portray Jules Landry in Dark Wolf, but his role in the main series is still under wraps.

While Season 1 starred Constance Wu, Riley Keough, Jeanne Tripplehorn, and LaMonica Garrett, their return has yet to be officially confirmed. However, the expanded Terminal List universe continues to grow, with Pratt hinting at a potential crossover involving his father-in-law, Arnold Schwarzenegger. “There’s a character in the books… let’s just say Arnold would be perfect. I haven’t pitched it yet, but fans would lose their minds.”

David DiGilio serves as showrunner, writer, and executive producer, alongside Pratt, Antoine Fuqua, Jack Carr, and real-world military veterans Max Adams and Jared Shaw, ensuring authenticity in every scene.
