The Strangers are back – more brutal and relentless than ever. When they learn that one of their victims, Maya, is still alive, they return to finish what they’ve started. With nowhere to run and no one to trust, Maya must survive another horrific chapter of terror as The Strangers – driven by a senseless, unceasing purpose – pursue her, more than willing to kill anyone who stands in their way.
Madelaine Petsch reprises her role as Maya, joined by Gabriel Basso and Ema Horvath.
Once again, Renny Harlin sits in the director’s chair, with the screenplay penned by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland. The film is produced by Courtney Solomon, Mark Canton, Christopher Milburn, Gary Raskin, Alastair Burlingham, and Charlie Dombek.
All three films were shot simultaneously, with the narrative unfolding over five days. “This first film is a reimagining of the beloved 2008 original, which holds a special place in my heart. However, it also serves as a gateway into the second and third chapters, which venture into unexplored territory,” Petsch shared with The Hollywood Reporter. “It evolves into a character study that is mentally, emotionally, and physically intense. It examines what happens when an individual is pushed far beyond their limits—who do they become? Who remains with them?”
The Strangers – Chapter 2 is set to hit theaters on September 26. A release date for the third and final installment has yet to be revealed.
