Karan Johar has made an official announcement regarding the OTT debut of Dharma Productions’ eagerly awaited thriller, Sarzameen. The film stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Kajol, and Ibrahim Ali Khan in essential roles, with the young Khan portraying a terrorist in a strikingly different role.
In a one-and-a-half-minute teaser shared on his Instagram, Johar wrote, “Nothing is more important than the safety of Sarzameen. #Sarzameen, premiering July 25, exclusively on @jiohotstar!”
The film is set to launch exclusively on JioHotstar on July 25, 2025, marking the directorial debut of Kayoze Irani.
For this role, Ibrahim Ali Khan undergoes a significant transformation, abandoning his previous good-boy image to take on the role of a terrorist engaged in a fierce confrontation with Prithviraj Sukumaran’s character, an army officer.
Prithviraj Sukumaran plays Colonel Vijay Menon, a renowned army officer dedicated to eradicating terrorism in the Kashmir Valley. Kajol portrays Prithviraj’s wife, adding emotional complexity to the military-themed narrative.
The storyline centers on an army officer’s unwavering mission to liberate the Kashmir Valley from terrorist threats. Set against the politically charged landscape of Kashmir, the plot delves into the conflicts that arise between personal relationships and national duty.
Karan Johar highlighted this core conflict in his announcement, stating, “Where duty and family collide, the story of Sarzameen begins. The official announcement is now out!
